Federal judge in Chicago picked for key Justice job
By Michael Higgins and James Oliphant | Tribune staff reporters
November 16, 2007

The Bush administration on Thursday nominated a federal judge in Chicago to the No. 2 post at the Justice Department under new Atty Gen. Michael Mukasey.

The move requires U.S. District Judge Mark Filip to give up his lifetime post on the federal bench to join the Justice Department at a time of turmoil, as the agency tries to move past the controversy-filled tenure of former Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales.

.............

Like Mukasey, Filip would not seem to be a natural choice for a high-level Washington post. After clerking for Scalia, Filip returned to Chicago rather than stay in Washington and pursue the kind of career track that traditionally leads to a choice government appointment. He did, however, work as a volunteer Republican vote counter in Florida during the 2000 election recount.

Bush and the GOPs 'victories' in 2000, 2002 and 2004?

BushInc knows it still needs the COVERUPS to continue.

Where the FOCK was the DNC in those 3 elections while the RNC was using their time to gain control over the election process at every level where they could effect (rig) the votes allowed, cast and counted?

6. Yep. We have just seen a new tactic in OH. They left a second Dem on the ballot
despite dropping out on Sept 28. This lead a split in the Dem vote and a Republican "win" by 5%. (The Dem that dropped out received 7% even though they weren't running. Watch for more dirty tricks.

Hey, maybe that's a good thing. Get him into a temporary job, then can his ass when the Democrats gain power in 2008.

8. The Clinton-Lieberman wing of our party protects the powerful
and certainly NOT the rights of the citizens to honest and open government.

Schumer and Feinstein don't operate in a vacuum.

5. GIANT RED FLASHING LIGHTS and SCREAMING SIRENS should be going off on this one...
Thanks Kpete for bringing this one to our attention.

These characters just keep showing up over and over, and then remarkably suspicious circumstances come to light.

7. Heartbreaking how so many Dems prefer to play horserace than grasp the reality
of our country's circumstances.

I'm concerned about primary race, too, but geez....the ongoing PROTECTION game being played by election thieves should be appalling and an immediate concern to any Democrat.
