IMPEACHMENT ISSUE DRAWS STRONG RESPONSE AT CNN DEMOCRAT DEBATE
Posted by leftofdayton on November 16, 2007

You might not know it from this mornings read on the CNN Presidential debates last night, but the issue of Impeachment of President Bush and VP Darth Vader was a flashpoint. It wasn’t until the second half of the “debate” but when first Senator Joe Biden brought it up, the crowd reaction was immediate, strong sustained applause. A short time later, when Rep. Dennis Kucinich made the same point and expanded on it, moderator Wolf Blitzer tried to cut him off. Again, sustained applause from the audience. The NY Times, the LA Times nor the Washington Post made any mention of impeachment, though the NY Times did find space to trivialize Kucinch’s remarks about the Patriot Act:

While the debate started off with some of the most slashing exchanges of the campaign, it was also marked by light moments, like when Dennis J. Kucinich was asked why he was the only one on the stage who voted against the USA Patriot Act. “That’s because I read it,” he replied.

A “light moment” ???? We truly are in a sad state of affairs…

1. That's why I stopped reading the Times
they are just another MSM tool any more.

We should send non-stop emails to CNN to find out why Wolfie tried to cut off Dennis. I was pissed.

3. I saw an earlier post and the OP suggested that the Dems conduct
their own debates with the moderator of their own choosing.. I thought it was an excellent idea, why isn't this being done? Keith, Moyers, Cafferty, they're a lot of great people out there who could run these debates beautifully. Imagine, Bill Moyers or Keith....sigh.
