Carville and Gergen are taking turns kissing Hillary's Ass
This is disgusting,
and CNN should be ashamed for claiming to provide a balanced view of the candidates.

7. if great means Treading Water
She didn't answer a single question directly.

She would immediately take the dialogue in a different direction, giving very generalized answers.

Even when the older woman specifically asked for an answer that wasn't vague, she was unable to comply.

15. Hate to break it to ya, but THAT IS NOT ENOUGH!
ALL of the candidates were smart, educated, presidential and strong.

How did Hillary do beter than the rest?

All I heard were skillfully delivered sound bites and prepared speeches.

She did not answer the questions directly, she basically put them into her play book.

Who knows, maybe she won the debate. But how she did it leaves a hunger for substance.

18. That's not enough?
sorry, but coming across as smart, educated, presidential and strong is pretty much all of it.

Some presidents get elected with only two or three of those things - all four is a good thing.

24. We're talking about how to win..
And coming across as smart, educated, presidential and strong is a good way to do it.

You're free to have your opinion on Clinton, but to deny that she did well tonight is just willful blindness.

44. She doesn't have to do better than the rest
She's got a huge lead, all the money she wants and the best organizers in every state.

All she has to do is not fall on her face and run out the clock and she will glide in with an easy nomination, and probably a general election victory too.

I wouldn't expect to hear much from her. There's no reason for her to take chances or take stands. She's way, way ahead.

19. She is excellent at presenting an Image...a great Actor
But her answers are hollow, without substance

She is such a politician, that she can't take a stand on anything.

She had to get the Gov of NY to drop his license program just so she could save face.

She can sell the Snake Oil,
only problem is that it doesn't help anyone get better

From what I have read on DU so far, the 'liberal Dems' here say she lost and the 'conservative Dems' say she won.

I am just going to assume that Dennis Kucinich did the best because: he gave straightforward, hard hitting answers (I assume) to the very few questions he was asked by the bias moderators (I also assume).

25. ¡Oyga!
Heard Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. speak the other day in Detroit at Wayne State University.
He called George W Bush "that sonofabitch" and said the guy was a crook,
turning over the government to the lobbyists and gangsters who've emptied our Treasury,
polluted our water, land, air and children,
and used humanity as cannon fodder and slave labor.
He also pegged ABCNNBCBSFoxNoiseNutwork for what they are.
Brother, I would've taken notes, but I wanted to hear everything the guy said.

31. Tambien, bro-dehr.
He mentioned that he planned to run for the Senate seat until Hillary Clinton entered the race.

If she becomes president, he again would consider running for the seat.

He also said he was friends with Clinton and would support her.

What got his endorsement was someone in the audience asked him about the current crop of Dems and the environment.

Kennedy said Edwards was good and Obama had a nice record, but they were all excellent compared to the pukes -- none of whom had done squat for even clean air.

What made me deel good, though, was the guy instilled IT in the audience.

In fact, Kennedy lifted more than 43 years of bad feelings from my shoulders. We have hope Hermano.

PS: Must say, Swamp Rat, your art is getting incredibly excellent these days. That Nixon...

I am a different person. He made me feel good about the future -- there are many, many good people working to change things for the better.

Bobby Kennedy did not give the crazy monkey one inch. The law professor was pretty damn rough on the media, too.

Brought up a lot of what we discuss here on DU.

He said he's friends with Hillary. He also said nice things about his cousin, deh guffen-or off Kalee-forn-ya. So, who knows...?

17. What ever happened to the League of Women Voters Debates?
The "moderator" of this debate, and I use this term loosely, was pathetic. He was so biased it was pathetic. What was even worse, when people from the crowd had a question, he redirected them to a totally different question, and asked the candidates the other question. Actually, he was not the only one to do that.

This was the wierdest debate!

Somewhere the coverage will be a little more even,

I mean, seriously,
the first several questions were all about getting a good fight going between Hill, Obama, and Edwards.

14. I turned off CNN when I heard he was on. Carville is a party traitor:
Did Carville Tip Bush Off to Kerry Strategy (Woodward)
By M.J. Rosenberg | bio

?On page 344, Woodward describes the doings at the White House in the early morning hours of Wednesday, the day after the '04 election.

Apparently, Kerry had decided not to concede. There were 250,000 outstanding ballots in Ohio.

So Kerry decides to fight. In fact, he considers going to Ohio to camp out with his voters until there is a recount. This is the last thing the White House needs, especially after Florida 2000.

So what happened?

James Carville gets on the phone with his wife, Mary Matalin, who is at the White House with Bush.

"Carville told her he had some inside news. The Kerry campaign was going to challenge the provisional ballots in Ohio -- perhaps up to 250,000 of them. 'I don't agree with it, Carville said. I'm just telling you that's what they're talking about.'

"Matalin went to Cheney to report...You better tell the President Cheney told her."

Matalin does, advising Bush that "somebody in authority needed to get in touch with J. Kenneth Blackwell, the Republican Secretary of State in Ohio who would be in charge of any challenge to the provisional votes." An SOS goes out to Blackwell.

The rest is history.

http://www.tpmcafe.com/blog/coffeehouse/2006/oct/07/did_carville_tip_bush_off_to_kerry_strategy_woodward

IF HE WOULDN'T HAVE PASSED THIS INFORMATION, HRC WOULDN'T HAVE HAD HER CHANCE THIS YEAR, BUT THE NATION WOULD HAVE HAD A DEM PRESIDENT INSTEAD OF THE HAVOC OF 4 MORE YEARS OF *
