I enjoy a town hall...but these insipid Q&As during these game show debates are a joke. It looks more like Stump the Band...very controlled and scripted. The whole concept is manipulated from the outset as CNN is looking for specific people (like the person who served 3 tours in Iraq) or some question that fit their narrative or "makes good TV". Since this is a TV show, the "performers" have to "KISS"...keep it short, stupid...audience members have to race through a question while the butterflies churn.

This is all manufactured "news"...the networks love these things as they're cheaper to produce and easier to sell than a documentary on a phony war or the pillaging of the economy.

16. The Way They're Used By CNN

As a member of Gold Star Mothers and contributer to IAVA, I proudly support all veterans who have served in this hellhole, past, present and future along with their families.

Yes, CNN uses people as a prop...from the people being picked to the type of question asked to the little sockpupppet both trying to put words in their mouth and paraphrase what they say. They're not looking at the individual asking the question as much as how much of a reaction it can get from a candidate.

I felt very sorry for both the mother and that brave 3-timer...you could see how uncomfortable she was trying to ask her question...done under the glare of thousands in the hall and millions watching with the bobblehead trying to hurry her up. THAT's what I'm condemning.
