Hillary Clinton is NOT answering questions
Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 09:55 PM by lynyrd_skynyrd
The only candidates who have answered questions directly a majority of the time so far are Edwards, Dodd, and Kucinich. The one who has answered the fewest number of questions has been, by far, Clinton.

I think that should tell us something.

1. I heard she was gonna answer yes or no tonight.
On Tweety they were saying that someone from her campaign was saying that.
I have yet to hear it.

I saw that too. Like a regular politician. :hi:

29. My wife and I decided she was campaigning
for the General Election tonight.

She didn't want to say anything to anger the independants - Republicans so she pretty much avoided saying anything.

Once the primaries are over, she will start appealing to the Independants- Republicans.

She can't do that yet, so she says nothing.

I don't like it, but I think she knows the nomination is in the bag and she's just biding her time.

Incidently my wife was fawning all over the comment about women facing extra obstacles (that wasn't the word she used? what was it?) Anyway, my wife was just nodding saying, we women know exactly what she's talking about. You go girl.

If my wife is at all representative, then Hillary is right. This election is long over and there's no reason for her to say a thing.

3. Gravel? You sure you're watching THIS debate and not an old one on TiVo or something?
I agree with you on Hillary's bobbing, ducking, and weaving by the way...

26. She uses the same kind of self-aggrandizing rhetoric that Junior used in 2000.
Listen. Listen and remember. She (like he did) keeps running to how she BELIEVES and WANTS and FEELS ... but when it comes to concrete stances, all I see is mud.

I'm NO Biden fan (too corporatist) but I admire his directness. Somewhat the same for Dodd. Best is Kucinich .. since he ties principle to defined policies. (Even when I occasionally disagree with him.)

17. I don't think Hillary smokes, but she might be more likeable if she did
You have to admit that she isn't answering the questions directly.
Yes, I understand that is what Politicians do, but she takes it to the extreme.

21. No, I don't have to admit that. Last debate she was answering, and was accused of the same
I'm NOT a Hillary supporter, and I watched the answer about Iran last time, and the complaints that it was a non-answer are shallow and intellectually dishonest. Excuse me for not believing the same narrative this time.

22. did you even watch the debate?
the Immigrant Driver's License Issue was the only question she was asked that she answered directly.

All her other responses were tangential to the questions asked.

35. I have ducked no point.
Whatever "point" you may purport to be making is rendered MOOT
by your complete and deliberate IGNORANCE of the subject.

You are talking about something you DIDN'T SEE and have
REFUSED to read a transcript of.

Therefore, your so-called "point" is less than worthless on the matter.

It is, in fact, no "point" at all; but merely a biased preconception.

DIFFERENT.

12. I think she's doing a great job...
Look, a lot of people want a candidate to answer questions about this or that so they can have some idea of what that candidate would TRY to do IF they got elected. I think Hillary is playing a whole different game here. She's not going to try to sell you on what she'd LIKE to do, she's showing you "the goods" right now. I think as president, she'll take both sides whenever possible, duck the big issues, punt on the controversial issues (maybe by appointing "a commission to study..."), and make her key decisions on what will keep her popularity ratings high. I don't think she's trying to fool anyone, she'll govern the same way she campaigns.

(BTW, I'm still not sure who I'm going to vote for in the Primary, but I've narrowed it down to 1) a Democrat and 2) Not Hillary)

13. They are all weaving around
Funny when Edwards couldn't give a yes or no on the license question, when he ran an ad that said its a yes or no question.

New York Times blogger also though there was lots of weaving from all.
