To put illegal immigrants "on a path to citizenship" is to create a new class of immigrant, is it not? One cannot blithely say they would extend this or that right or privilege to immigrants "on a path to citizenship" without defining what that path is ...... and in essence call for the creation of a whole new class of immigrants. A SuperLimbo if you will.

Lets not bullshit each other on this point, okay?

2. One question I've never heard anybody discuss
Do all immigrants (legal or illegal) really WANT citizenship? Or would a lot of illegal immigrants be content with resident alien status giving them the ability to work here legally, without the rights and privileges of citizenship? Not sure I like the idea of creating a legal but non-citizen class of residents in this country, but legal workers who could organize, seek redress from law enforcement, etc. I think could improve labor conditions for everyone.

3. I was talking to a customer last week...
His ex-wife moved back to Mexico City.

When I asked him how the economy was. He said it was fine and replied that it wasn't too hard to get a job.

The illegal immigration debate is pure bullshit.
