Korean Air -- Why so many ads on TV?
They're not doing this much stuff for the seat traffic.

Anybody got a clue?

4. And Thai Air
Smooth as Silk.

I do love the dresses for their flight attendants, though.

I have a strange desire to go to Bangkok.

6. Bangkok? In December, one of the "cool" months -- it was 99 degrees F. with 100 percent humidity.
We went out on the river on the King's Birthday (December 5th) -- but it was still blazing hot.
And this is a city that has almost NO airconditioning. We did get to Phuket island BEFORE the tsunami. Beautiful but unbelievably hot.

Sorry, but we're not going back there. I could take it, but my wife would kill me if I book travel there.

Your mileage may vary.

9. i guess it depends on where you live...?

i'm in chicago, and i haven't seen what i would call a preponderance of ads...

but- companies do try different advertising strategies from time to time.

i would guess that with the falling dollar, foreign firms have more $$ to spend on U.S. advertising.

and with the falling dollar meaning fewer people traveling internationally from the u.s.- destinations/carriers have to get more aggressive over a smaller customer pool.

12. A tinfoil answer or a sardonic one?
:7

Tinfoil: Think 'peak oil'

Sardonic: They thought Schneidermans and Empire Today had great music in their commercials and wanted in on the gag too.
