My incredible, breathtakingly assholic assumptions about Mark Cuban.
I always assumed he was a jerk. An asshole. A dilettante.

Keith Olberman just put me in my just-deserved place. Thank God! When I make such a mistaken, prejudicial assessment of a person, and find that I am wrong, I feel like the turd-in-the-sewer that I probably am.

I just assumed that Mark Cuban was another asshole like Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder. Maybe it is time for the obviously flawed DemoTex, with respect to character assessment, to back up and look again at Dan Snyder and, more importantly, at my own character.

I apologize for my arrogance and hubris with respect to this good man, Mark Cuban. I feel like shit.

1. Yep
You were wrong about Mark, but I don't think you're wrong about Dan.

I call him, "The Little Pisher". :)

7. I did not know that until Keith alluded to it tonight.
Also, the rags-to-riches story about Mark Cuban blows me away. I guess that I didn't pay enough attention (I'm not a sports fan) when Cuban bought the Mavs (I did live in Dallas at the time). IIRC, he bought the team from Ross Perot, Jr. That, alone, probably tainted my opinion.

9. Hey, you were just hearing what David Stern WANTED you to hear.
Cuban just doesn't go along with the status quo just because it is the status quo.

10. No, Tom. I heard nothing about Mark Cuban.
I'm owning up to making a judgment on a man years ago. Without knowing jack-shit about him. Assumption here .. assumption there.

I am ecstatic over the revelation to me tonight about Cuban's true character, but I am seriously depressed over my failure in character.

14. I liked him from the time he started giving the NBA fits
All these sports leagues do everything they can to take fun out of games. He put it back in. And as noted above, he can see a shaky call now & then.

11. I did the same thing
I think the money blinded a lot of people, including me. Plus I'm a basketball fan and the Mavericks are a rival team. I think I took his involvement and passion for the game as arrogance. I watch Dancing with the Stars and my opinion of the man changed watching how hard he was trying. The first week of his practice was 8 weeks after a hip replacement surgery. That too some guts. I felt really bad about my original opinion. I am very glad he is one of us.

13. If you've been following the O'Reilly manufactured outrage
Then you'll be happy to note that this Thursday The Mavs were already having a Green Shirt Night to honor the Texas National Guard.

Cuban is a force for good. Keep Hope Alive!
