Hey Budget Conscious People - Skinner likes to eat turkey too
Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 05:44 PM by NewHampster
As I write this I see the tally of donations at a measly 452. One of those is the incredibly likable Me.

Have You Donated Yet?

Now I must be off to my monthly Londonderry Democrats Meeting to hear a speaker from the Carbon Coalition. Tonight's topic: Global Warming.

edited to change Cheapos to Budget Conscious People. So PC

7. Shipping the tofurkey
will contribute to Global Warming also. I am
just going to think about Skinner having a big
turkey. As long as I do not fart while doing it,
that should not contribute to global warming at all.

2. Strategery
I'm guessing that people are holding off to hopefully make their favorite "win".. and since the donation is in NUMBERS , not dollars..

That 452 COULD contain a lot of $25 or more donations

15. Fact is, this is a solidly performing fundraiser in that regards.
Calling folks cheapos because we haven't donated yet isn't going to back up your Ditka-ism.

11. Some of us MAIL our contributions
which I always do. And mailed contributions are not recorded until received.

HAVE YOU AGGRAVATED SOMEONE ELSE YET??

12. I am putting off my donation until after the race is "won" but will
contribute soon after. This is to keep the foreign interference in the "election" to a minimum, lol.

17. It's "PC" to recognize that some people aren't donating because they CAN'T?!
*sigh*

I like that euphemism... "budget conscious"... let's pretend like non-donators are just frugal, and ignore the possibility that some are likely barely getting by.

18. If dialup access weren't one of the last luxuries I have,...
,...I would donate the $15 I must pay to have access to this site.

Otherwise, I am one American wondering how to 'negotiate' a power bill that keeps my family from freezing this winter, and budgeting for the gas required to travel and see my terminally-ill Father and cancer-ridden Sister.

Last month, I gave $10 I really couldn't spare to UNICEF. Last weekend, I begged forgiveness from my Mother because I do not have the resources to be present for her and my Father. I have cried alone in the bathroom more times than I care to say. I leave the bathroom exercising what power I have to sustain a home, even if barely, and fight for something more than me by making toll-free calls and free emails to congresscritters leaving decent Americans and soldiers and children behind.

Hell, I am going to rant, now.

Meanwhile, not one of my family members and very few of my friends or anyone I know spends fifteen minutes out their entire WEEK to write or call about ANYDAMNTHING they complain of. They have time to watch teevee or read a romance novel or finger through some magazine or "shop for bargains" (for which they are REALLY proud) or do what is "right" for themselves and their lives but HAVE NO SPARE TIME to do something about their dissatisfaction about how this government operates, have NO TIME to invest in the well-being of someone other their own immediate lives. They are too busy blaming others and excusing their own failure to DO ANYDAMNTHING.

I HAVE donated,...my time and concern to matters beyond me.

Okay.

Had to get that off my shoulders.

Sorry.

If you have money to give, I encourage the generosity.
