Poll question: Who do you honestly think will be the Democratic nominee in 2008?
What do you honestly think will happen?

Here is my scenerio:
I think John Edwards will be our nominee. I think he will win Iowa and, like Kerry in 2004, it will have a domino effect going into NH. I think he will take NH and go into the Super Tuesday rounds of primaries strong. He is one candidate most Democrats like and I think is the second choice of many. I honestly think that Hillary's support while wide nationally, according to polls, is not very deep and early defeats will hurt her.

What do you think? Who do you think will ultimately be the Democratic nominee?

1. Unfortunately, I think that it will be Hillary.
But I am prepared to be wonderfully surprised should someone else get the nomination.

6. Yeah, I'm the one who voted for Biden. I really gave this some thought and
if Biden does well in Iowa, he'll get more $$$ support (please God) more media attention, and I honest-to-god think if he were to debate any one of the other candidates one on one he'd come out the winner.

Lot of ifs, I know but it's really ALL a big if right now.

9. I do like Biden. I think he has been a real asset to the debate and yes, if he does well in Iowa
that would be a big surprise and could propell him forward, too.

12. I think Biden would be helped if Dodd or Richardson drop out
Personally, I think Biden has the experience that Richardson supporters want, but Biden has a much better presence and better debate skills.

7. I think it will be Edwards, too!
I think what DC needs is Edwards and a swarm of strong-willed, law-abiding lawyers to settle in, takes names and start litigating to get back this nation's riches that w has pi$$ed away!

8. At this point, I think it's a tossup between Hillary and either Edwards or Obama...
it all comes down to Iowa. Once Hillary starts leading the caucuses, either Edwards or Obama supporters will start trying to draft the supporters of second-tier candidates into their caucus. That could be followed, after it's obvious that either Edwards or Obama is the clear second-place candidate, by mass defections from the third place to the second place in an effort to overcome Hillary, seeing that candidate as a better alternative than Clinton. If all that happens -- a fairly likely occurrence, despite all the "ifs" -- then either Edwards or Obama will pull out Iowa, leading to a chain reaction down the line.

If both Edwards and Obama supporters keep to their own candidates, or if defections are not enough to pull off a defeat of Hillary, then I think Clinton will be the candidate.

10. Hillary will win
And she will go on to become the president beating the GOP in the general election. And it will be great!

Edwards is dead in the water, Obama isn't making any traction.

11. Good gravy, who is voting for Kucinich?
He did horribly in 2004, and there is no reason to think 2008 will be any different.

I am sure the nominee won't be Kucinich, Gravel or Dodd.
I highly doubt it will be Richardson
It could be Biden, but I'd be surprised
It probably will be Hillary, Obama or Edwards.

I don't think Hillary has it locked up as much as people think. Everyone has high expectations for her, and it won't take much to derail the campaign. I don't know how she could recover from coming in 3rd in Iowa.

14. Well...
As a former Dean supporter in '04--I recall that Harkin endorsed and worked for Dean that year, and Dean wound up coming in third.

16. Honestly, I don't know. I think it's going to be a 3-way race to the finish...
...Between Clinton, Obama, and Edwards, with a surge of young netrooters coming to vote for Edwards and Obama in the primaries.
