When it comes to Iraq War: Human cost VS Economic cost
I don't know about anyone else, but when costs are talked about when it comes to the Iraq War, the use of money figures run flat for me. I'm not claiming to state that it is not important estimates now put the price tag at 1.6 trillion, but in comparison to the human cost, the economic cost has less of an impact.

The thing I care about the most are the death and injuries to American soldiers and the death and injuries to innocent Iraqis. I also believe to many people the economic cost is an intangible factor while the human cost is right there out in the open and will soon be more so out in the open as more and more American troops with injuries start appearing in every day American life.

So when I hear some Democratic politician or some war critic talk about the economic cost I think, "Talk about the American soldier because in contrast who cares about the money when our soldiers are dying and being hurt for life, both physical and psychological."

And yes, I understand that this 1.6 trillion for this war means less money for cancer, research, medicine, et cetera.
