BREAKING: "The Surge" has been an unqualified success thanks to George Bush
It's on every so-called "news" program this morning. The anchors are making sure Americans know that George W. Bush, despite his terrible standing among the public, was relentless in demanding -- and getting -- what he wanted from Congress, and it has paid off. Success has been delivered to Iraq! They even showed a chart and graph to "prove" it.

Once again, all I can think of is Gary Kasparov asking Bill Maher, re: Putin's high approval rating, "How do you know."

Well, BECAUSE THEY TOLD US SO, of course!

Back in the day, an actual journalist would fact-check this kind of bullshit. Now they just read the WH press release and then move on the celebrity panty-check.

3. As Mika said...
"but, but. but..."
right before Scarborough steamrolled her
and changed the subject.

Sorry Republicans, the world is not buying your bullshit any more !
You can yell, you can bully, but that does not make you any less wrong.
LIARS. That's what you are and that's exactly how you are crafting your own demise.
No one likes you. No one trusts you.

13. Scarborough regularly steamrolls any hint of opposition but he's
fair and balanced! :sarcasm: Loved his spiel of late contending that the reason he was elected to Congress was because he wasn't repuke or Dem! He infuriates me with his spuing(sp?) of garbage that he presents as news. Yesterday morning I kept track of his topics....for the first 32 minutes, before Pat Buchanan came on, he talked about the Dem presidential candidates and sports. Not one mention of a repuke except mention of the silly old man jumping out of an airplane! Frauds!

4. THEY are not journalist
they are newsreaders....and to prove it, when that woman on the news committed suicide, the other NEWSREADER on TV in Australia called her a NEWSREADER not a reporter or a journalist.

5. Actually, I heard one of them say it the other day...
It was the girl who sits in for Mika sometimes, telling Joe to be quiet because "I have to read the news."

They don't have any clue what they're reading. You can tell be the number of times they're surprised at the next story which pops up on the Telepromptr. Just parrot whatever the control rooms enters into the feed.

7. Even Laura Ingraham was repeating it on The View yesterday
Anyone who doesn't believe this is a concerted, organized propaganda effort is as naive as a two-year-old.

11. Remind everyone of these peace talks in Iraq - Bush was excluded:
How does this affect what's going on in Iraq? Have you heard anything about this on the news at night?

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20071015/hayden

Sunni and Shi'a leaders began a potential peace process at secret meetings with leaders of the new Northern Ireland and South Africa one month ago, signing a draft set of principles which resemble the protocols that guided the peace settlements in those two countries.

Chairing the closed meetings near Helsinki were Martin McGuinness, the former Irish Republican Army commander, lead negotiator with the British, and now Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, and Roelf Meyer, former leader of the pro-apartheid National Party in South Africa's peace negotiations. The Irish delegation also included former IRA hunger striker Leo Green, minister Jeffrey Donaldson, former Stormont speaker Lord Alderdice, and former loyalist paramilitary leader Billy Hutchison. South African participants included ANC leaders Mac Maharaj and Rashid Ismail, key participants in the military and political negotiations in South Africa.

Names of the Iraq delegations' have not been released but reportedly included six Sunni and nine Shi'a who signed a statement of principles. About thirty Iraqis were present, including Akram al-Hakim, minister of national reconciliation for the Baghdad government, representatives of Moktada al-Sadr, Sunni leader Adnan al-Dulaimi, and Humam Hammoudi, the Shi'a chairman of the Baghdad parliament's foreign affairs committee.

There is no doubt that American and British authorities knew about and approved the meeting, though they were excluded from attending. Instead, the meeting was facilitated and funded by the Finnish Crisis Management Initiative and the McCormack Graduate School at the University of Massachusetts.
