A FUN discussion: DU Candidate Fun Run - Does JackORoses hold the winning card?
I have a question. Does JackORoses, who was given the powerup of "move a candidate to the front of the pack", just get handed a basic lock on who wins? Couldn't he just wait til donation 995 or so and pick his choice to take the potential final lead by using the powerup to move their fave forward if they're behind? And, sorry Jack, Gore's not listed.

Obviously, some of know who WOULDN'T win if JackORoses' decision decided the outcome! lol

I wish I was given that powerup, it's the best one, congrats! I like the Administrator's idea of doing this for fun, before we just had Senator Gravelbot to talk about (ha). I love board games and strategy, and I think this powerup is the trump card in this game unless there's a rule I don't know about. Of course, other users could sit on there powerup also, but I would think most would use it the moment they get it. He's the first not to.

I wonder if his postings hold the clue! (hint, hint--I'm feeling lazy and gotta finish laundry, but perhaps someone will start a bit of sleuthing)

7. pretty much
just against HRC unless she behaves motherly instead of acting like an Iron Maiden so to speak, and loves Gore, as do most of us. But, beyond that, i do not know his 2nd choice, probably Kuch or John. But, as Stan pointed out, powerups are no good past 900, so he has to use it by then.

14. oh, in my dream world
Gore wins the imaginary Fun Run, hears about it through a close friend who DU's, and gets in the race and mentions Democratic Underground, along with several other groups as being part of the "friends of Gore" who helped encourage him to run!

lol

3. I did consider this this afternoon
and aside from being anti-Hillary and pro-Gore, the man has kept his cards close about who he's supporting. At least in the searchable posts.

4. I can't speculate, however, we all get to see exactly how and when it's used.
I'm guessing a few others will snag their favorite "dirty trick" for use down the road.

It's pretty fun to watch.

10. LOL. I have to say that I pondered snagging one of the tricks myself, but
couldn't commit to time and focus needed to monitor it enough to make the good move.

If one follows this closely, one could be the individual single handedly responsible for catapulting, if you will, the winner to the front.

I'm waiting for the official GDP thread on this mini primary. :-) MKJ

12. The primary strategy, it would seem,
would be to hold onto the DT until right before 900 donations, in an attempt to be the last one using that trick.

I have to agree having the "front runner" card is probably the ace in the hole, so to speak, but if that is used while others still have tricks and before 900 donations there are a couple of tricks there that could change that situation.

As in many things in life, it's all in the timing. :-) MKJ

9. I'd give it to Gravel just to spice things up.
A last-minute come-from-behind steal from an outsider would be more interesting than DK running away with it.
