Suspect in Pearl's killing dies after interrogation: report
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/071112/world/us_attacks_justice_pearl

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A Pakistani businessman suspected of playing a role in the brutal 2002 killing of American journalist Daniel Pearl died earlier this year, shortly after being interrogated by US and Pakistani intelligence, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday. snip

But Memon's family members and human rights groups said that in April, the businessman was left in front of his Karachi home badly injured and emaciated, weighing just 80 pounds (36 kilograms), according to the report.

About a month later, he died from what was described as complications from meningitis and tuberculosis, the Journal said.

Pakistani human rights groups have accused the local intelligence service of torturing Memon, according to the paper.

But the report mentions an unnamed Pakistani police official saying Memon was already in poor condition when the United States gave him back to the Pakistanis.

1. Did that interrogation reach the level of what the criminal cabal
in the white house considers torture? Did Memon experience pain on the level of critical organ failure?

Who will be indicted for war crimes?

When will we start to demand accountability and justice?

After they go after our children, will that be enough?

6. The interrogation killed him
By definition he experienced pain on the level of critical organ failure, ie he experienced death. This was a direct consequence of his interrogation, the only question is which interrogation team inflicted the fatal event. As the teams were working together, as in any criminal conspiracy, they share culpability.

The point is that by the cabal's own bullshit definition they committed a war crime here.

And my question was rhetorical, nothing will happen and nobody will do anything.

3. Every time I read stories like this I think back to the old SNL skit
where Dan Akroyd is doing the news about Steve Biko's death reported earlier in the week. South African officials had reported that Biko had died from natural causes due to his hunger strike even though he had a skull fracture. So SNL(when it mattered) had Akroyd report that Biko died when South African officials tried to force feed a roast beef into his skull in an effort to save his life.

Anthrax? Why don't I believe this was really helpful or just someone saying something to avoid anymore torture?

4. This sort of thing is going to become commonplace...
...here in the U.S. -- and over time people will learn to just shrug it off and say "Bad luck for Charlie, I'll have to send his widow a card."

We're already seeing the beginnings of it:

How much of a stir are we seeing over this item? It's already old news and soon to be forgotten.

7. She died of 'natural causes'.
Reminds me of any dreary fascist state. A lot of people are or will be dying of 'natural causes' while in custody.

16. Quite right. And I suppose we could say there's actually some truth to their claim...
...since in a fascist state it is "natural" for people to die shortly after being taken into custody by authorities. It was perfectly natural in Nazi Germany and it will soon be perfectly natural here.

11. One less potential witness on that.
First, we tortured him,...then, we turn him over to be further torture,...and now, he is dead.

12. About a month later, he died ...
Reminds me of stories from Iraq where "detainees" were being dropped off into hospital emergency rooms and where remains were literally put in "ice".

14. I'd like more information on the...
...meningitis and tuberculosis that he had.

If he died a month after being interrogated--from tuberculosis and meningitis--then
he must have been gravely ill while he was in custody.

Geez. Did he have meningitis and tuberculosis before he was interrogated?

15. Geez. Wouldn't a better question be who did the autopsy?
That might be kind of important here.
