...a house of cards. I think it's going to completely collapse soon, and I don't think that there is any way to stop it. We are overloaded on debt, both personal and national, inflation and gas prices are rising, and the dollar is sinking.

before we have another thread that claims the sky is falling. Japan's stock market has been in the tank for the last two years, as I learned to my sorrow last year. I think the Asian tigers have just figured out that talking the dollar down causes significant shrinkage in the value of their holdings. If China had let the ren min be float, as they were asked to do a couple of years ago, the dollar probably wouldn't be in the sad shape it's in today. And oil might not be knocking at the $100 level.
