Best Progressive Food Kitchens / Holiday Drives?
Any recommendations from other DUers for the best progressive food kitchens / holiday drives to contribute time and/or money to this year?

Thanks in advance. I have a feeling a lot more families are going to be looking to these this year.

1. At this point, I'm not sure I care about
their progressiveness. I think I'd even give to religious organizations, as long as they are giving food to the hungry. It's a disgrace that so many people are starving. We can pay $500 BILLION for a fucking war, but still, people starve.

Sorry, got really mad reading this article. Please don't take this as an attack on YOU. It's screaming at the situation and not meant to be a personal attack:

3. Thanks for Sharing That Article...
... and I share your frustration.

I have a feeling we're going to see some heart-breaking stories this season.

2. This is a really good one and doesn't just stay in the city limits!

The Greater Boston Food Bank distributes nearly 26 million pounds of food annually to hundreds
of local hunger-relief agencies in a dedicated partnership to feed our region's hungry.

Events
Walk & Rock for Change

The DJs of 97.7 / 107.3 WAAF-FM’s Hill-Man Morning Show want to stamp out hunger.
Their annual “Walk & Rock For Change” started as a two-DJ walk along two routes to Boston,
collecting money along the way to help the hungry in our community. In the past 15 years
they have raised more than $1,000,000 for The Greater Boston Food Bank as well
as two other hunger-relief organizations. During the three-day event, WAAF has instituted
a full-on hunger awareness on-air format, featuring a “pay-to-play” marathon.
Listeners can call in to request songs; the more unusual the song, the more it costs to play
it Please help WAAF and The Greater Boston Food Bank in our 16th year of this truly rockin’ event!

Massachusetts has lost thousands of jobs and a lot of people are
unemployed and facing high fuel costs to heat their homes on top of it. :(
