God, how can anyone watch Hardball?
I'm home today and I turned on the TV. The show is unwatchable. Thank God I'm usually working or getting drunk when the show is on.

4. That was sickening, wasn't it?
I turned it off.
After watching Matthews in his apparent meds flux, over the years, I think I've finally figured him out.

He actually thinks of himself as a liberal, maybe even a democrat, but for sure a liberal independent. Because he thinks this, he feels free, even called upon, to criticize democrats and "put them on the spot" even more forcefully and ham handedly than he does the real bad guys.

I have seen this before in my work, very often in close personal relationships.
For instance, I knew one man whose wife finally shot him to death who was constantly critical of his wife and children. He was actually a really nice man, almost sweet, except when it came to those closest to him, expecting them to meet higher standards.

He was actually pretty patient with everyone whom he was not in close relationship with, but once he became familiar or "buddies" with someone, dogs running in the same pack, he felt free to harangue and critique them, even in front of strangers and felt justified in "expecting more" from them.

My secret name might be Big Chief Fuller-bull, but the more I test the theory, the closer it fits.

5. Must Be Thursday
I'm sure people will be praising him tomorrow.

I REFUSE TO EVER, EVER, EVER WATCH HIS BULLSHIT EXCUSE FOR A PROGRAM.

Seeing the closing seconds, leading to Countdown, is enough of a pain to endure.

7. Yep. Tomorrow he'll say something that many here agree with and they'll be kissing his ass.

8. DU has a weird love/hate relationship with Hardball
Some of us who watch TV dearly love the idea of a daily inside-the-beltway show, but Matthews completely ruins the execution with his mood swings, his shallowness, and his bellowing Archie Bunkeresque lack of decorum.
