* and the Republicans have just lost the Dems are "appeasers" propaganda when
they continue with supporting Musharraf, a military dictator who protects bin Laden, Khan, and the Taliban in his nation while suspending the constitution and jailing opposition parties. This dog should not be allowed to hunt anly longer. Bribery = appeasement, and Musharraf has been and will continue to be bribed to maintain the status quo--protecting the boogeyman and maintaining instability while ostensibly keeping Pakistan's nukes in "safekeeping" for the world. The very essence of appeasement.

1. On NPR a Pakistan native said that Pakistan lost its democracy, so
the Americans can keep theirs."

More like Bush/Cheney* can continue to pillage the American economy, but I digress. His point is well-taken. Musharraf has provided Bush* and Bin Laden cover for 6 years.

5. They sacrificed needlessly. Both nations lost.
Musharraf sacrificed them to keep from losing nukes.

2. Gee it would be nice if we had some leaders in the party
who would hammer home this point. The BFEE is in bed with dictators because gangsters take care of their own. Period.

4. Exactly. A good time to retool the political language.
And we have a bunch of idiots up there calling the shots.

6. Go ahead; try this line with the American media
You'll get a look similar to a dog watching a card trick: Total incomprehension, possibly drool.

The talking chuckleheads will be completely incapable of drawing a line between Republican rhetoric and actions in direct opposition to that rhetoric. Until the very moment the Bush administration decides to blame Bill Clinton for "losing" Pakistan. Then they'll all engage in a Very Serious Discussion about why the Democrats are so inept.

Doesn't mean you're not 100% right; just be prepared for the inevitable reaction.

7. I remember when General Musharraf suddenly became "President Musharraf".
It was quite awhile after the coup. US media referred to him as "General Musharraf" until early 2002, if I recall correctly. They all suddenly started calling him "President Musharraf" on what seemed like the same day. It was another disgustingly obvious example of how our big media functions as a PA system for the White House.
