And it would be legal to do it to us too. Any one of us. Or one of our children. And those thinking to themselves, "Well, I ain't no terrorist, so I have nothing to worry about." , are sadly mistaken. Any cop will tell you that after a crime is committed everyone is a suspect.

And I promise even though you think you don't have anything to worry about your wrong. Many won't realize this until after they are tortured into admitting to a crime the are innocent of.

Could be any one of us.

1. Military Commissions Act 2006 means that can happen now, correct?

13. No, because that was my understanding of the legislation from discussion here when it passed.
I was hoping someone could make a definate confirmation.

2. This is what Repubs never think about, they just don't
think it could ever happen to them.

7. Exactly - they truly don't understand the concept
of innocent until proven guilty - it's enough to wish they'd get accused of something.

3. Yep, but you miss the real point... Bush/Cheney don't give a rats ass about you...
Oh and by the way, they never did. They don't care if your tortured just so long as its not them... Everything they have done and will continue to do is for them and there corporate buddies... Certainly not for the lowly American citizen...

5. There's a long history of psychological torture, it seems to me.
You are suggesting that physical torture leads to more physical torture.

I'm suggesting that psychological torture leads to physical torture, which may lead to more physical torture.

in no particular order: tasers, pain compliance, being a student subject to zero tolerance policies, historical slavery for some, today's corporatist version of working hard for the lifelong reward of poverty, slavery, homophobia, presumption of guilt (except formally in the courtroom), etc.

We're already subject to torture and coercion, though it's longer-term or chronic nature within existing structures of society tends to blind one to its existence. It can get worse: it can become acute.

I have faced torture and I will not be tortured again or scared by such threats..into acquiescence..
Nor will I stand by or ignore it going on. I will bite the hands of power if not for my own sake for the sake of humanity.Trauma is an injury that never stops hurting. And NO ONE deserves to be tortured. NO ONE.

NO MORE TORTURE.

I will harm a torturer to make him stop in self or others defense, only until he stops it..Or I can kill a torturer.
I WILL NOT torture a torturer..Especially when he is bound,no longer a threat or helpless..Because _ALL_ Torture is WRONG.

NO MORE of this captive torture threat and NO more inflicting trauma damage to a person's spirit and life through gratuitous authoritarian driven bullshit .Torture is pointless, useless and it is not necessary AT ALL for ANYTHING..except breaking a human being into a fragmented suffering soul who may create blow back, originating from rage.. we all may have to face later...

ALL Torture is morally and ethically wrong on many levels . It is OBVIOUSLY wrong to people who HAVE a moral compass.
To psychopaths ,authoritarians, narcissists, and followers they will rationalize it and DO it as commanded because they have no inner moral compass or empathy...

Torture fear mongering and threats directed at the people of this country is an abuse of power.Abuse of power by abusers of people cannot be tolerated in a democracy.. Torture is TYRANNY and it ruins more lives for nothing. It is only gratifying to psychopaths or authoritarians and social dominator's worthless power trips.

The other thing torture does is for enabling scared rigid obedient personalities on short leashes obedient to thier masters, it lets them feel safe and powerful for awhile,it keeps fueling the acting out of the pathological pointless hate, and under that, fear.FEAR fuels torture, in rigid followers so scared of life..resenting everyone they cannot control with torture being excused they can get back...

This Authoritarian and follower dance is socially worthless to most human beings,it fucks up societies and harms life itself..And..it is WRONG and it must be stopped. This game of master and servant and control the world has no useful purpose,no reasons and no excuses to exist.

NO ONE deserves to be tortured. NO ONE.
NO MORE TORTURE.

Oh and BTW Off to Greatest page with you!

14. Tasering, beating, and gassing American citizens is already legal.
America has already jumped the shark... it will get much much much worse.
