I was having some good sex the other night, when some RW'ers burst into my room

"What?" I said.

"Well, you see, sex is for pro-creation only, and marriage is for that purpose as well, you can't do those things."

"So BDSM, oral, anal...all that means I cannot marry??" I was shocked.

"Yes sir, if it has no chance of creating a new life, it is wrong. And we note also sir that you are 42, your wife 36, and that you are unable to have any more children, is that Correct." He asked, as he looked at his manual.

"Well, yes, we wanted another child and cannot have one, and the wife is too sick now to have one even if we could."

"Well, your marriage is now invalid. You have broken all the societal rules and do not deserve the status of being married." He said in a stern manner.

"I am married to this woman because I am committed to her and our dreams together, we want to share what little time we have on this earth with one another, till death do us part. What business is that of yours or anyone else's??"

"We define marriage, not you. Being committed means nothing if you cannot pro-create, and as you noted you can't and wouldn't even if you could."

Support gay marriage and you support all marriage. Keep these people out of my bedroom and yours.

Just like my religion, how we have sex, how often, just like smoking in my own home, etc and so on it is no one's fucking business who you have sex with and how. Marriage is about love for someone else, it is about the American dream of finding that perfect someone to share this short life together with - all your hopes and dreams, not just whether or not you can produce children (which I have 5 times now).

The things I do in my bedroom would be illegal if the fundies had their way, just like they have made gay marriage illegal.

I support my brothers and sisters in their struggle, vote to end this bullshit and kick the fundies out of our bedroom and marriages. it is none of their damned business. Otherwise, my OP may come true someday and there will be people in YOUR bedroom and telling you who you can marry and why.

My best friend has been with his partner for longer than my wife and I, he was also the best man at my wedding - and yet I cannot be the best man at his because he cannot do something so fucking simple as marry his lover.

Leave adults alone and let us make our choices of whom we want to spend our lives with. Enough already.

what you describe is already, for the most part, the position of the Catholic Church, i.e. sex is solely for procreation . . . it's just a short slippery slope to, say, making masturbation illegal -- and then trying to enforce it . . .
