Traitors now; traitors then. Exactly what weapons were sold to Iran under Reagan/Bu$h?
And why is the perfidy of the Reagan/Bu$h-1 administration not an issue as the perfidious, odious Bu$h/Cheney war wagon rolls, yet again; this time toward Iran? Iran, the arch-enemy for which Reagan/Bu$h and a cabal of proto-Neocons committed treason in order to finance high crimes in this hemisphere? Iran-Contra, the who's-who list of which was disgraced, cashiered, and convicted, and then pardoned by Pappy Bu$h and then, some, hired in an eye-blink by Boy-Bu$h?

We know of 400+ BGM-71 TOW (Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided) anti-tank missiles sold, illegally, to Iran in the Reagan years.
What other conventional weapons were sold to Iran? What about non-conventional weapons? The levels of secrecy (PAST & PRESENT) attending the Iran-Contra weapons transactions suggests that perhaps there was an even darker side to those transactions.

What other weapons do we not know about? The possibilities boggle the mind.

2. I've always wondered about that, too.
I do remember doing an unsuccessful search about 10 years ago.

3. they also used the money to buy weapons from east germany and traded them for cocaine which they
sold to inter city black and mexican gangs in a premeditated program to keep them down and poor and 'marginal',

the prison industry blossomed to about $90 billion dollars a year.. gangs expanded into vast suburbs and drove out residents, who lost their homes.. which were renovated and sold to yuppies for mega profits by the very banks making mega profits laundering the drug money.

6. I would love it if Iran-Contra got dragged into the light of day again
It shouldn't be a rarely mentioned footnote in US history, especially given the players involved who are still walking around free, still screwing around in our government.

7. I can think of only a handful who might be able to re-open Iran-Contra.
Keith Olberman and Seymour Hersch top that short list. Any KO/SH staffers catching this plea?

9. I think our best chance to have reversed
the damage of Iran/Contra was lost in November 2004. It may have been Kerry's work on Iran/Contra that in the wake of Reagan's death couldn't really be used as an accomplishment that led to the unprecented smear campaign against him and his wife. It sickened me that Oliver North, a felon, who Kerry was instrumental in exposing, was one of the Fox pundits sitting in judgement. I wonder how many of his listeners knew North had sent drugs into the US to fund thugs who murdered many - including nuns and priests.

10. Just thinking about Ollie makes me furious.
It's inexcusable that he not only got off, he has a freaking TV show - about military history. Unbelievable.

11. And the damnable right-wing lie about Ollie's warning about Osama Bin Laden.
My blood boils when I hear (or, more often, read in an unsolicited R/W chain e-mail) that Ollie North testified under oath (HA! HA! HA!) that his expensive home security system was to protect his family from (drum roll, Maestro) .. Osama Bin Laden!
I watched every second of North's testimony, and I have it on VHS (somewhere in the basement). North did indeed testify, very theatrically and under oath (HA! HA! HA!), that the expensive security system at his Virginia home was to protect his family from a mid-east terrorist: Abu Nidal, a bona fide bad-boy, to be sure. The R/Ws shameless revisionism and bald-faced lying is breathtaking.

Snopes, again, exposes the R/W noise mongers as inveterate, congenital, serial liars :
