IMHO - failure to formulate a national alternative energy initiative borders on criminal negligence
No one since Jimmy Carter has given it anything but lip service. Back then you could get tax credits for installing solar panels and it was quite the burgeoning little industry. Reagan came in and the credits disappeared and so did the nascent industry.

We are fighting wars over OIL! We will probably fight new wars over OIL!

Every single President and Congress in the last 30 odd years has let us down. We could have had solar collectors on all new residential construction. Wind power, solar power, tidal power, efficient vehicles, mass transit, you name it. We have squat and have lost precious time.

Was EVERYONE beholden to the oil industry? Why did our leaders not look at this issue as one of national security?

They need to get their act together RIGHT NOW!

1. Not to mention all the green industries the USA will not be the leader in
because Europe or Brazil will be out way ahead.
