Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up King and Parliament.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

2. God save the Queen
Her facist regime
They made you a moron
Potential h-bomb

God save the Queen
She ain't no human being
There's no future
In England's dreaming

Don't be told what you want
Don't be told what you need
There's no future, no future
No future for you

God save the Queen
We mean it man
We love our Queen
God saves

God save the Queen
'Cos those tourists are money
And our figure head
Is not what she seems

Oh God save history
God save your mad parade
Oh Lord God have mercy
All crimes are paid

When there's no future
How can there be sin
We're the flowers in the dustbin
We're the poison in the human machine
we're the future, your future

God save the Queen
We mean it man
We love our Queen
God saves

God save the Queen
We mean it man
And there's no future
In England's dreaming

No future
No future
No future
For you
No future
No future
No future
For me
No future
No future
No future
For you
No future, no future
For you

5. Ahhh.... the Sex Pistols.
What a lovely bunch of lads. :sarcasm: I still watch "Sid and Nancy" every time it's on IFC or some other channel though. It's like watching a train wreck. Gary Oldman was superb as Sid Vicious.

9. I watch it every year around New Years Day ...
Back on New Years Eve '89, myself and a friend took some acid. It was stronger than what we've taken before and it took us for a ride.

When it "calmed down", we watched Sid and Nancy; it was the first time I saw it. Now I watch it every year.

10. It's one of those movies you either love or hate.....
Myself, I love it. It captures a era in time that will (hopefully) never be repeated.

I spent a lot of time in NYC during the "punk" era. CBGB was a regular haunt on our "Manhattan Death March Tours". ;) Never saw the Pistols there but we saw many other "interesting" groups. There's never been another spot on the planet that was as disgusting, and yet fascinating, than the men's room at CBGB. Ahhh....those were the days.

11. Guy Fawkes: probably a patsy.
Exposure of supposed gunpowder plot allowed round-up and expropriation of Catholic dissidents and suspected Catholics who had nothing to do with it. Everyone was forced to go to Anglican services.

In any case, blowing up Parliament not my idea of liberation. Fawkes doesn't come across as an admirable figure in the official history:

And here's the alternate take, Gunpowder Plot as false-flag op - Tarpley or not, it makes for interesting reading:

I am definitely an agnostic here - it was 402 years ago and who da hell knows?
