Time to turn your clocks back!
...to the 1940s when abortion was illegal, people of color had significant barriers to voting, gays were in the closet, all the presidents had been white males, and the nation was at war!

3. Those were the days!
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again!

Didn't need no welfare states!

Everybody pulled his weight!

Gee our old La Salle ran great!

Those were the days!

6. Here's the rest of those lyrics...

And you know who you were then, girls were girls and men were men.
Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
People seemed to be content. Fifty dollars paid the rent.
Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days.

Take a little Sunday spin, go to watch the Dodgers win.
Have yourself a dandy day that cost you under a fin.
Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song.
I don't know just what went wrong. Those Were The Days.

**********

Growing up, I would sit quietly in the hallway and watch that show thru the doorway into the living room. I was supposed to be in bed by that time. That was my first introduction into social/political issues other than who's running for Pres. My parents were pretty much like Archie and Edith.

7. How about turning the calendar back to 1993...?
It was far from perfect, but dammit, it was a hell of a lot better than what we have now. :(
