13. I swear that this actually happened.

In the very early 70's, while in a downtown bar, preparing to date myself horribly in the early years of the next millenium, my friends and I overheard this conversation:

A couple of up-and-coming young executive wannabes appeared to have invited a couple of young women from their office out for drinks and whatever. One of these young studs put a stunned (and stunning) end to a conversation about the nascent women's movement with this:

"If women aren't inferior, why are they paid less?"

Swear to God.
