Opening SNL sketch SLAMS Hillary -- plus, real live Obama
Halloween party sketch...a guy comes in in an Obama mask...and it's actually Obama. The rest of the sketch was cheap shot after cheap shot at Hillary. I may not like her, but sheesh...harsh!

3. Cross post from the Lounge thread
Edited on Sat Nov-03-07 10:47 PM by UTUSN
The CLINTONs were hosting a Halloween party and OBAMA came in with an OBAMA mask, and said that he's the same person under the mask. Bill gave a thumbs-up to KUCINICH impersonator over KUCINICH's wife-(impersonator).

Hosting Brian "Wedding Cake Guy" WILLIAMS was fairly funny in the monolog, saying he is going to relax out of his trademark stiffness and anchor man mode. Then the TelePrompter was on the screen with what he was saying. He's going to do sketches?

4. I saw cheapshots aimed at Edwards, Richardson, Kucinich, Gravel, Dodd, and Biden, too.
Perhaps your TV is malfunctioning?

10. No. Obama got a free campaign spot, actually.
I'd say it's clear who the SNL writers are behind! Either that or they just went easy on him because he agreed to appear in person.

9. Oops. I just said I thought it was funny!
They were all really low, actually. But I got a chuckle out of the Gravel one, even if you could see it coming a mile away.

13. It was the straightjacket. Thought it was way over the line.
The bag of Milk Duds got a chuckle from me.

8. They did one joke about each candidate...and every other one about Hillary
Come on, Tahiti...you know it was a very anti-Hillary sketch. Everyone calling her a witch, Bill making jokes about being married to her. The jokes about the others were just quick jabs (Gravel was pretty funny!), but the Hillary jokes were more like a barrage.

15. I could take the "Everyone calling her a witch" as a 'ganging up' gag.
In fact, I interpreted it that way ... an "eye of the beholder" thing, not directed at her but at the common perception of the 5-of-7 opponents. (I've YET to see any Hill-defender acknowledge that NEITHER Richardson nor Kucinich singled her out for criticism - perhaps as a side-effect of them being marginalized in the debates.)

So ... to make it clear ... it WASN'T "everyone" either on SNL or in the debate. OK?

22. No cheap shots at GOP candidates or Bush?
Those tend to be pretty scarce.

23. No cheap shots at GOP candidates or Bush?
I guess SNL thinks they're above reproach.

I guess Obama is their anointed.

12. Well, Gore's participated.
Hosted the show twice - and some of the funniest political sketches ever. (Him and "Joe Lieberman" in the hot tub OH MY GOD. Gore playing Trent Lott! :D)

17. Nah, I'm a Hillary supporter and thought it was hilarious.
It was an equal opportunity sketch. They did all the candidates, even Gravel.

Why do people always get offended when SNL or Jon Stewart makes fun of Democrats?

19. I sure as hell hope you're not implying that I'm a Hillary fan!
Nothing could be farther from the truth. Which is why I thought it was worth noting. If I thought it was an obvious hatchet job, and I don't even like her, then maybe it was actually a bit over the top. Maybe?

24. No offense, and I wasn't implying you are a Hillary fan. But I think it's
a funny joke.

Don't you?

And since the thread is about a humor skit about Hillary that you didn't find to be funny, and some other people on the thread who may be Hillary fans didn't find funny, i thought it was a good place to post it.

Does that make sense?

I didn't see SNL tonight so I don't know if I would have thought the skit was funny or not.

And I'm supporting Kucinich, so I'd better have a sense of humor at least about elf jokes, short jokes, and UFO jokes, vegetarian jokes, etc.
