Nothing on the cable news channels about Pakistan?
I've just started watching, but it looks like 'To Catch a Predator' on MSNBC, 'Geraldo at large'(covering a missing white woman) on Fox News, A show about "flipping" houses on CNBC, 'CNN Special Investigations' (Black lynchings) on that channel.

No coverage of the events in Pakistan on these "news" outlets.

1. I'm almost more alarmed that DU is not plastered with threads.
But it is definitely horrifying that the whores are all in line. I thought things had gotten better lately with our "news" providers. Guess not.

2. You're right,
I just checked and nothing so far.

There's some stuff up on the BBC website, though including M. speech.

3. That was my reaction as well
It's as if someone were saying "Nothing to look at - move on!"

Part of it is the decline in foreign news budgets, but really . . . this is a major news event.

5. CNN covered it off and on most of the day. Wasn't non-stop but they did have it.

6. And this surprises you? The 24/7 Cable "news" channels stopped covering Real News years ago!
Almost from the first day *Bush hijacked the Presidency.

The thing that amazes me, is that they have the Balls to say "nobody watches the News anymore!"

It IS true, but if they actually DID start reporting the News again, I think people would start watching it again. :banghead::grr:

7. Not at all surprised..
Just taking note of it.

It's business as usual.

IMO the corporate media are traitors and should be hung by the nuts until dead.

8. The lights are all out .......
No profit in staffing the newzroom on weekends. Turn off the lights to save utility costs. They'll pick it up on Monday ...... unless Brittany farts or Hillary cackles or Cheney shoots some drunken pal.

10. I lay down for a quick rest this afternoon and turned on my shortwave for
the BBC via Latin America...and heard 45 minutes of top reporting and analysis.....with interviews of Bhutto and someone from Pakistan who said it was all a step in the right directions! I bless my Grundig shortwave radio everyday....

11. Did they give a context for how this was a good step, Gloria?
I do not watch teevee news but rely on the net for news.

15. Sorry I was unclear---the BBC was interviewing a man from Pakistan,
someone obviously trying to put lipstick on a pig. This interview came after the one with Bhutto.

One of the topics the BBC reporter/analyst touched on was the possibility of being killed.....
