Feinstein and Schumer, may God have mercy on your miserable souls
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 07:32 PM by derby378
Both of you had your chance to stick it to the Bush junta by denying Mukasey the AG position. You could have ended it today. And both of you blew it. You kissed Herr Decider's ass and gave your assent to the wholesale violations of the Fifth Amendment and the Eighth Amendment by giving legal clearance to the torture technique known as waterboarding.

We want no such people as you in the Senate if you're going to fold up like yesterday's newspaper.

As far as I'm concerned, you are no longer Democrats. You are traitors to the party you have called home for so many years, professing loyalty while poisoning it from within. God have mercy on you both.

37. If you recall correctly, the
Democratic-Party-do-or-die party wonks around here went apoplectic when they thought Cindy Sheehan was going to run against her in the Democratic primary. 'Course I find it more than a little amusing that they're now apoplectic in the fact that she's NOT running as a Democrat against Pelosi.

This is her last term and, like her buddy Bush, isn't even trying to hide that she is the epitome of DINO.

61. Honestly, I supported a Sheehan run against Feinstein in '06
Barbara Boxer had a come-to-Jesus meeting with Cindy, however, and the campaign went poof. This was back before the corpo-Dems on the Hill alienated her from the party once and for all.

If New York Democrats can't find someone to run against him between now and 2010, then the New York Democratic machine is in serious trouble and in dire need of an intervention from the rest of us.

4. Same reaction as previous poster: Schumer amazes me
Are we absolutely sure this bill is what you say it is?

Sometimes there is a very good reason to vote for or against a bill that sounds good on the surface but really isn't.

Shit... Not that long ago I was hoping Schumer would run for president. It's not like him to support a corrupt, despicable bill.

Is there something we may not be seeing?

12. Schumer may be an AIPAC tool
but Dianne Feinstein is a tool of Bush, a war profiteer and corrupt from the get-go. She got billions of military contracts for her husband's military supply business and used her position in her role in the Senate Intelligence committee to manipulate others to vote as Bush/Cheney bid.

48. She screwed this city and the gay community so bad when she was mayor...
...a job she got because some crazy homophobe killed the real mayor and a gay city councilman back in 78. I swear, I don't know how she even ended up in a political career after her shenanigans here.

Remember when Michael Huffington, Arianna's still-in-the-closet husband ran against her for the senate? We all circled the wagons around her, just to get someone with a D after their name into that seat. Now I wonder if we wouldn't have been better with Michael. He could have eventually come out, resigned the seat and supported his newly liberal ex-wife for it.

We could've had Senator Arianna. Instead we got the stupid DINO witch who looks like Dear Abby.

Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 08:33 PM by derby378
Schumer said that the DSCC "fully supports" Sen. Joe Lieberman in his primary bid, and he refused to rule out continuing that support if Lieberman were to run as an independent.

There were degrees of independence, Schumer said. "You can run as an independent, you can run as an independent Democrat who pledges to vote for Harry Reid as Majority Leader."

Schumer said he had neither sought nor recieved assurances from Lieberman that an independent bid would not ensue if Ned Lamont tightened the noose.

15. Human Rights Watch said Schumer and Feinstein's support for Mukasey is extremely disappointing
Mukasey appears more interested in protecting administration officials from possible prosecution than in providing a straight answer on the law - hardly the kind of independent legal adviser that America needs

``This is an extremely difficult decision,'' Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a statement, adding that Mukasey ``is not my ideal choice.'' -- Schumer what a fucking waste!?! some Dems are repugs...

Schumer was one of the very few politicians I trusted completely.

I really am tempted to give the fuck up. I'm fucking sick of this.

For the first time in my life, I'm thinking maybe it is better to be totally ignorant, stupid, uneducated, and to bury my head in the sand, and live for the moment rather than think of the future.

It's hard to even care sometimes.

A lifelong Feinstein supporter?

Even when she was merely running for mayor of San Francisco she was a corporate Democrat. Jello Biafra (formerly of the Dead Kennedy's-back when they were a real band) ran against her and you can hear his side of the story on his CD "I blow minds for a living."

It also has his award winning spoken word thingee "Die for Oil Sucker" which was as relevant in 1990 as it was in 2003 or today for that matter.

55. it's time for a 3rd party, or an overhaul of the republi to turn it into a representative democracy
I am tired of having to compromise between GOP and GOP-lite.

I am a liberal, and I feel no shame towards that. If the Democratic party doesn't want to represent me, fine. They should however stop assuming that my vote will be there for them in the future.

As far as I am concerned I am done with the Democratic machine laughing at my face. I have better things to do with my money and time than support this bunch of bozos.

Anyone who feels like sharing how the Dems are the only choice because they are not as bad as the GOP. Please spare me the bullshit, OK? The best part of a fece is still that: shit. I don't particularly enjoy the smell of shit, I don't want to find out what it tastes like, and I most definitively don't feel like wallowing in it. So I will move elsewhere in the political spectrum that does not reek. Thanks....

67. Forget the Traitors to the Party line-- They are traitors to the country
As is anyone who supports torture.

Why? Here are the reasons.

1) Doesn't work. Proven countless times and reiterated repeatedly by those in the know.

Torture is purely a means to display power and cruelty.

It is one of the most ineffective methods employed to gather intelligence.

2) No need for any more reasons. The first is clear enough.
