First off, you need to stop with the broad brush insults and the false memes.
I suppose that you think that it is OK for the police to trample over peoples' right to free speech and freedom of assembly, eh. Second, if you will take a look at the tape, the videographer didn't get a warning to move along until after he had been maced and beaten. Third, is macing and beating peaceful protesters really the way to deal with them? What crime were they committing that they deserved this? Fourth, despite your smear, protesters aren't the face of the party. Fifth, not all protesters are young, in fact if you would take the time to go to an anti-war protest you will notice that the participants rage across all age and social ranges. Sixth, are you seriously implying that all protesters are "punks". Seventh, this is Miami FL police department, they have a long reputation for being brutal thugs, and down there it is just as likely that the "rednecks and whitey kooks" attacking protesters are actually going to be the cops. Perhaps you're too young to remember the Miami police riot of 1980 or other MPD transgressions over the years. Finally, your last comment about people not having the stones, well, I suggest that you replay the video, and listen to the young woman who is calling the cop much more worse things than pig.
You obviously have an attitude of supporting the police, right or wrong. Sadly pal, it is becoming incresingly clear that more and more, the cops are in the wrong. There has been a major attitude shift in police departments over the past few decades. Formerly, police thought of themselves more as public servants, and treated the public with respect. Now they feel that they are simply guards at an outdoor insane asylum and are empowered to perform any sort of brutality they want. Even long time police officers are aware of this paradigm shift, and bemoan the authoritarian and brutal turn that police work has taken. Face it, if you want respect for the police, then the police need to prove that they have respect for the public. After all, we pay their salaries and we still, at least nominally, have civil rights in this country.
Enjoy your stay.
