He has missed the deadline to even have his name printed on the early primary ballots. He hasn't raised any money. He has no campaign organization (meaning all the good consultants have already been hired by other campaigns). It's November 2nd, guess what, he's not running.

3. LOL, as an independent?
Al Gore is not Joe Lieberman. He's a Democrat.

I am one of the 'Gore/Obama/Edwards/Biden/Richardson/Dodd/Clinton' people you referred to ....

Arent YOU ?

(EDIT: Oh yeah .... btw: He could skip the primaries and still emerge in the convention, if necessary ..... so much for your thesis)

5. He could become the nominee at the convention, sans primaries.
I am not predicting it, just saying. (Just hoping? :)

7. And that is the ONLY WAY Gore will ever be the Democratic Nominee...but
in order for that to happen we would need a split of the vote among Democratic Candidates in such a manner that no one Candidate gets the required percentage on a first ballot. THen as subsequent votes are conducted the various State requirements would begin to allow the delegates to vote for another candidate than the one they were elected to vote for, and the 'brokered convention' could then receive Gore's name in nomination and he could be elected.

A lot of IFs in that explanation, but it is the ONLY WAY Gore will EVER BE the Democratic Nominee in 2008.

8. If Gore had chosen to do so
He could have entered the primary contest, and WHOMPED the field immediately ....

I think the whole idea here is: Gore did not want to join the rat race of a campaign .... IF he were to declare at the convention it would create a groundswell in his favor, and could easily result in a Gore nomination .....

Im pretty sure the previous posters understand the brokered nomination process, and in fact were making statements based on that notion .....

9. It's not too late for write-in campaigns in these early states.
He's only missed one state so far, since Michigan is a beauty contest. It could be a significant write-in campaign could propel him into the field.

As one DUer said, if there's anyone in the world who could pull off a crazy write-in campaign for the presidency based on the people, it's Al Gore.

10. And a damn shame it is.
Although there is no saying that the neo-con jerk-offs wouldn't do the same thing they did to him the first time. They've had the better part of 7 years to hone and perfect their election stealing methods. 6 of them complete with no oversight at all.

11. Yoda.
You do realize that the fact that there are quite a few people who wish he would run indicates some real problems/issues with our current candidates.

Poke Poke.

Does it make you feel giddy to come and piss on people's hopes?

"You Gore people". What are we the scum of DU?

Al Gore represents the hopes and dreams of millions of Americans. He is one of the few true democrats left in our time.

I hope you run head first into the Karma train today.

We could finally hammer a nail in the power of those two states to 'nominate' a president.
