Help...Eliot Spitzer is on saying defending his "Documentation for All Americans!"
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 06:52 PM by KoKo01
He's telling Chris Matthews that all this documentation of an ID card isn't going to mean that Americans will have folks going through their papers and documenting them...but it will help with illegals getting a drivers license. He is saying Americans already have a Social Security Card so why shouldn't they have an ID number that can be verified.

I'm having visions of the old WWII Movies with the Nazi's asking "LET ME SEE YOUR PAPERS BEFORE YOU CROSS ZEE BORDERS!" I'm thinking that driving from NC to Florida there will be "CheckPoints" on the SC/GA and FLA Borders before I can get to Orlando! And, I'm thinking that Spitzer and others will think they are going to have us be happy when they set up "TOLL/CHECKPOINTS" asking "LET ME SEE YOUR PAPERS!" before i can cross State Lines.

What the HELL IS GOING ON HERE!

1. Because Americans were PROMISED we would NEVER be forced to carry ID cards
Like they had to carry in Europe.

We were PROMISED that the Social Security card would NEVER be used as an ID.

Now, we need passports to get jobs in our own country. You know how that helps? It means that no worker can lie about his or her age. It means that age discrimination has been coded into law without ever mentioning it. They just look at the passport or drivers license and find some other excuse. Thanks, Congress. You didn't do a thing to the illegals but you screwed the Americans just beautifully.

2. Good point...and where does it end? Most folks will capitulate figuring "they"
(meaning the Gubbmit) already knows everything about us... So, What's the Big Deal..they will say.

what they don't know that can happen with "what you give away...you will never get back." UGH!

4. I once heard a South American expression...
"In times of freedom is when they draw up the lists."

Right now there are 800,000 names on our list.

3. I think that the driver's license issue is just that.
If illegals who drive anyway, had licenses they would be forced to carry insurance like everyone else so that when you are in an accident with an unlicensed driver your insurance rates don't go up. They are not proof of citizenship even for citizens. You need two documents to prove citzenship for example, to apply for a job. I don't think there is a hidden agenda here.
