I think we can safely assume that Al Gore is not running. In fact, I think this has been clear for a while.

Too bad, though.

1. tomorrow is the deadline for entering the the New Hampshire primary...
...if I'm not mistaken. I doubt that's a big hurdle for Gore. Quite frankly, I think he could show up and announce his candidacy for the first time AT THE DNC CONVENTION and walk away with the nomination. The New Hampshire primary is not something he really needs, IMO.

2. You are delusional
When a large majority of delegates, backed by Democratic primary voters, have pledged their support for Hillary or whoever, there is no chance in hell that Al Gore could prance on stage and decide that he wants to play president at the convention.

This just isn't a reasonable thought process.

3. Dates vary by state. Today is the deadline for South Carolina.
Tomorrow for New Hampshire.
Michigan has come and gone.

5. Way late in the game. I said back in the summer that, at the absolutely, very latest...
Gore could still maybe get into the race in mid-October.

Gore's out, pure and simple. The dream is dead. At this point, would-be Gore supporters need to look at the other candidates and find the one that best represents the things they saw in Gore.

Personally, I've been leaning Obama for a while now, though Edwards has a populist message that I think a lot of Gore fans could relate to.
