Virginia Governor to Endorse Obama
This is the first Gubernatorial endorsement of anyone that I am aware of.

By BOB LEWIS
Associated Press Writer

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine will endorse Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, perhaps as early as the weekend, two officials said Wednesday.

Kaine, a Democrat who took office last year, has decided to endorse the Illinois senator in his bid for the party nomination, according to two officials with political ties to the governor. They spoke on the condition they not be identified because the decision had not been made public.

1. It seems so early for official endorsements.
doesn't it? This primary season is, imo, getting going far too early. As if the race for support = race for money = push candidates out before even the first debate. This isn't a statement against any candidate just a lament for the role of the 'voice of the people' in the primary process.

2. Its all about fundraising and looking like a winner at this point
It is a crowwded field and early endorsements are meant to make you look legitimate to the big money donors. The other issues is that it makes it that much more difficult for second tier candidates to look credible.

4. I agree with that - a few debates should be held first before the endorsements
begin.

I think it's Obama campaign's way of pushing back at Hillary's tactics. I wish he'd concentrate on having the best policies and debate material and challenge her there on stage.
