2. There have been gay people I suspect since the beginning of

time. But that is not my point. My point is, when did it become so important to even care if a singer was gay or not? I know that issues cycles, and I'm sure this issue was discussed at length before, but for people like me that don't care about the private lives of others, I wish people would stop. People are different,but we all deserve respect. Some are so greedy though, that they will start wars, and distract us with nonsense like black and white, gay or not, religious or not, family or not, blah blah blah. I would hope that if Hillary or John hire a singer, that the singer is great to listen to.

4. I don't think you understand the background here.

Obama is on a fund-raising tour with a "formerly" gay black gospel singer, who, along with MCing and singing, has been preaching his anti-gay views on the Bible. This tour is seen as a way of reaching out to African Americans. In other words, as part of connecting with African Americans, Obama is giving this man a PLATFORM for his bigotry -- and many people here are minimizing the hurtfulness of that to gay people.

her touring with the singer while accepting her war votes, her corporate pandering, her recent comments on doma and her silence on gay marriage? I don't think it would phase anyone who supports her if they haven't been phased yet.
