I made a really nice lunch and dinner today (yet another rant)
The wife was having one of those parkie days, so I made a nice lunch, and for dinner I made a kick ass roast and gravy (she told me what spices to add of course).

I helped my daughter with her homework, cleaned up dinner, and when daughter was finally in bed broke out the whiskey.

So what does this have to do with politics???

When our govt needs me, they raise my taxes. I kick in money to help us all to progress and grow, I know it takes us all working together to make it in this world. In some cases they lower taxes, mainly on the rich of course.

I stepped up as needed, for someone not able to do so. I am in a relationship, I bring in an income. She does not.

Where would she and I be if I called her a welfare queen (heard this on radio today) and just left her high and dry? Marriage means we work together for our goals, in sickness and in health. And I see it the same with government. When I am down and need help - you are there for me. And when you are down and needing money, I am there kicking more in for you.

You - the RW - keep asking for more money to pay for a war, and yet BITCH A BLUE STREAK when fellow citizens need money - go make it yourself you say, start a business, work 3 jobs, etc. But damn - when you need it for killing people you are at the dole begging for more.

Maybe if I started killing people you would help me out when I need it, instead of calling people like me leeches and lazy. Maybe if I was a corporation in debt to the tune of billions you would bail me out, but if I am a man out of work and struggling you call me a lot of bad things.

So I got a sick wife, got laid off of two jobs in a month, and am trying to live off of unemployment - and to you I am the bad guy for not working harder. This after I spent years working my ass off.

You want me to be able to stand on my own two feet, but you won't even try when it comes to the Iraq war. Give us more and more....and for WHAT????

Don't bitch to me anymore that YOUR'S is a just cause, don't tell me to make it on my own while asking me to shell out nearly a trillion dollars for war, and don't ever tell me I don't support the troops when you won't even support fellow Americans. It is getting old.

13. Indeed
we pool OUR money to help each other on everything from defense to infrastructure /etc and yet they keep cutting funds that help fellow citizens (and then call them names).

Damned shame.

where the hell is the government going to be when people can't afford to heat their homes this winter, when they can't afford to buy food -- prices have been going up like crazy -- not 5 and 10 cents, but 30 cents.

who's going to pay for health care for those who don't have it. who's going to take care of those who have lost good paying jobs to outsourcing?

i could go on, but it's late and i'm tired. my health is not good either. thank god i have a husband with a good job and health insurance, but we fear that his job like so many of his co-workers will be outsourced.

How is your Poetry class going? I have not been around as much lately, so I am sure I missed a lot of your poetry threads.

19. Story behind it:
What was the inspiration for the song "Think of Laura"?
Laura was the best friend, of a lady that Christopher was dating at the time in the early 80s. She was killed by a stray bullet while driving in a car one night. Christopher wrote this song in remembrance of Laura. It had nothing to do with General Hospital. But after the song was released on the Another Page album, GH requested permission to use the song on their show.

12. Hope things start looking up for you . . .
I feel the same about paying for this war and paying the salary for life to the ursuper who has taken our treasury to enrich his cronies.
But don't kid yourself, in spite of all the RW b!tchin' they are the first in line for government handouts when they need it. I've seen it happen more than once.

21. The money is for military contractors
Like Halliburton, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, AM General, etc.

killing people is a necessary side effect. it's like collateral damage, which they can easily live with. Soon your tax money will go to health insurance companies who will kill people by denying care but they can easily live with that on their non-existant conscience.
