Polk County Jail Nurse Arrested (for stealing prescription medication of inmates).
http://theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070214/BREAKING/70214012

"Deputies arrested a Polk County Jail nurse today who admitted stealing inmates’ prescription medications, said the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Lynda Maier, 42, is charged with eight counts each of possession of prescription medication without a prescription and petty theft, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Maier, of 2019 Woodbriar Loop in Lakeland, who has worked as a Correctional Medical Services nurse for the jail since July, is being held without bail, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives learned about Maier after they received a tip that she had the drugs in her home, the Sheriff’s Office said. When detectives interviewed her and searched her home, they found several types of prescription drugs, including amoxicillin and fluconazole.

Amoxicillin is commonly used to treat bacteria infections and fluconazole is used for fungal infections.

Maier, who worked at Central County Jail in Bartow, is an employee of Correctional Medical Services, whose nurses treat inmates and give out medication at the jail infirmary, said the Sheriff’s Office. Maier’s arrest is the latest controversy involving Polk County Jail employees since November."

(Odd types of drugs to steal..IMHO)
