Military Recruiting Via Text Messaging?

Is anyone else receiving text messages from the marines, navy, etc. trying to recruit you? I've never heard anyone else complain of this method. Between the constant phone calls and now texts (in which I have to pay for) it's really beginning to chap my ass. Anyone else experiencing this?

The commander of Navy Recruiting Command (CNRC) has authorized Navy recruiters the full use of text messaging. Although text messaging has never been against the rules in recruiting, it has always been "strongly discouraged" due to cost issues. Recent budget approvals have allowed for the recruiting districts to authorize official cell phones with text messaging plans, typically allowing a recruiter 1,000 text messages a month. However, the messages are not without normal restrictions. Texting falls under normal "official government business" use rules.
