Did bush ground firefighting planes during his photo-op?
Someone just mentioned this to me via IM, but I can't find anything in news reports.

Of course, there is precedent - when he did his first photo-op in NOLA after Katrina, rescue choppers were grounded for the length of his visit.

Anyone hear anything?

2. I'm not sure if the TFR (tem flight restriction)
applies to emergency aircraft whenever Air Force 1 or Marine 1 are flying.

That's a good question.

I'll tell you what...it would be outrageous if tankers and choppers were grounded and homes burned, just because the idiot in the White House wanted to site see.

5. I wouldn't put it past him.
Remember this from his Katrina photo-op?

Three tons of food ready for delivery by air to refugees in St. Bernard Parish and on Algiers Point sat on the Crescent City Connection bridge Friday afternoon as air traffic was halted because of President Bush’s visit to New Orleans, officials said.

The provisions, secured by U.S. Rep. Charlie Melancon, D-Napoleonville, and state Agriculture Commissioner Bob Odom, baked in the afternoon sun as Bush surveyed damage across southeast Louisiana five days after Katrina made landfall as a Category 4 storm, said Melancon’s chief of staff, Casey O’Shea.

“We had arrangements to airlift food by helicopter to these folks, and now the food is sitting in trucks because they won’t let helicopters fly,” O’Shea said Friday afternoon.

The food was expected to be in the hands of storm survivors after the president left the devastated region Friday night, he said.

It's all about him. Those fires can burn (or those po' folks can sit on those roofs), as long as he's safe in his airplane.

14. I wouldn't put it past him either, considering the way
he handled Katrina.

You're doing a "heckuva" job Bush. :puke:

9. That would pretty much ground all aircraft in the county
He also pulled cops away too for the photo-op. Cops who could be keeping looters away or escorting people back to their homes.

4. Bush also pulled 50 firefighters off the rescue effort to stand with him in a photo op in N.O.
This was after he asked those who were stranded in N.O. why they couldn't just go to the store and buy new clothes.

8. That's what I was worried about
Some might say, "So what, the fires were Out where he went, can't take any chances of Our Brain Trust being damaged.." and I would say to them that EVERY Firefighter needs to be working, and not Pulled from somewhere else for Canker Ass's Photo Op pleasure..

I WAS Hoping that the head man in the Fire fighting Union would have told Shit For Brains "Sorry Nazi, but only Real Men are allowed a lunch break here, and obviously YOU Don't fit in the Category.. Maybe Later, Loser, but don't get your hopes up.."

Ah, great Minds Think alike once again my friend :)

When's the blockbuster coming out? Fud told me you were putting the finishing touches on it. When will it drop?

Whenever it comes out, best of luck with it. If I know you, it'll be dead brill.

15. Good. quite busy.
All this work gets in the way of... everything. The wife and I did get to take a short vacation to Northern California for a long weekend - our first vacation since 2001!

Other than that, same old same old.

16. You need to get your asses out to Hawaii
We've got an apartment downstairs, it ain't the Ritz, but it beats 400 bucks a night, you can drink mass pitchers and it would give me an excuse to lay on the beach :)

We're Here for you Bro - call it a business trip, we'll briefly mention some web stuff :)

Think about it - then I can hand you a copy of my latest scribe, not the 600 page version that poor Fud got, lol ...

I'm serious, we can catch up in Paradise...I think you'll like our little Island :)

HI Stephanie!!!
