FR: Fred Thompson Prefers Not To "Flaunt His Brilliance" LOL!!!
OMG -- this is a good one!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1914874/posts?q=1&;page=101

I picked up on the quality of his intellect by reading his legal briefs and opinions. His command of history, American history, law and the Constitution is unmatched. I have posted comparisions with Lincoln and have received acknowledgements that he is indeed a deep thinker on par with Lincoln.

Guliani may be a fast talker as is expected in New York City, McCain may charm about Woodstock issues and Romney is ultra smooth, but none of them can hold a candle to Fred Thompson in intellect. Liberals know this and they fear him.

Fred’s southern charm and folksy manner masks the deeper qualities about him. He does not flaunt his brilliance and it would be unseemly for him to do so as Romney attempts to do.

Fred has the insight that none of the others have when it comes to plugging the problems that have plagued America for over four decades, one of which is an out of control federal judiciary.

He is the right man for America and so far his political team is doing better and better.

WELL, THE FREEPER IS RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING: FRED'S DEFINITELY NOT "FLAUNTING HIS BRILLIANCE!"

1. I don't know, I probably would spot Thompson over Giuliani and McCain in intellect
Being smarter than those guys is like being the cleanest pig at the trough, but sure, Thompson outclasses the whole Republican field. Why not?

3. Be fair- if you were equally "brilliant" to Thompson, you wouldn't want anyone to notice either!

Yeah, if anything the tyranny of the judiciary over the white upper class has gone on too long! What we really need is a stronger executive to reign in the out of control courts!

Geez...

11. I so hope Fred is their nominee
Seeing our guy clean Fred's clock would be similar to watching a high school bully take on a dweeb.

12. brilliance or not - here's another way to look at it
:smirk: Thompson is 'dumbing down' his rhetoric to a level so even freepers can easily understand it...

14. Extra-impressive argument, commit this one to memory for times you want to impress!
LOL, these FR arguments are so Dwight/Ed Helms from The Office!

Whatever you may have learned during your sophomore year, it is quite possible to know things. One of the things we can know, from direct experience of another’s words, is the acuity of their mind and the clarity of their thought. If you have any argument to make about how Fred and W are similar, make it. If you don’t go do something useful like brushing up on your epistemology. Constantly repeating that it is impossible to know either very public man’s mind is just juvenile nonsense.

If you believed what you are saying, you could not consistently be maintaining that there is any similarity between Fred and W. If the assertion that they are different is mere conjecture so is any assertion that they are similar.

In fact, of course, neither assertion is grounded in conjecture. They are both grounded in observation. It’s just that one is right and the other is embarrassingly wrong.

16. After sevens years of corrupt incompetence, I want to see some brilliance flaunted!
I tried to tell a co-worker back in 1999 that Bush isn't fit to be President and she said he doesn't have to smart, he can surround him self with smart people. I believe everything is relative and if you have an IQ of 50, then 70 will look like a *^&%$#+% genius!

17. Yeah! I remember a GOP guy I know saying "the country runs itself"
And it doesn't matter who's president etc. What we have in the horrid BushCo era is a demonstration of what happens when you get a dumbass puppet without a brain in his head as POTUS!
