Bush to have lunch with firefighters tomorrow - what would you say to him?
They just announced on the local news that Bush is expected to take a helicopter tour of the devastation in the morning, then meet with firefighters and have lunch with them, then give a speech at 12 noon PDT.

What do they get? Lunch with Chimpy.

This is insane!

8. My questions...
Do you have any comments on why Firefighters who dug their buddies out of the World Trade Center on 9/11 aren't getting enough health coverage and why they had to go to Cuba with Michael Moore to Guantanamo to get the superior medical treatment they have there?

Has your administration done anything to help the surviving family members of the 9/11 attack find justice in their attempt to make Saudi terrorist enablers accountable?

Can you tell us why you've cut funds for our military's combat pay and medical benefits for Traumatic Stress Syndrome and why so many veterans are denied mental health treatment when they return from Iraq?

That's just for starters.

17. What would happen if all the fire personnel forced into a
photo op refused to either appear or have lunch with Bush?

Seriously. I've always wondered what would happen if they all looked at him (or his representatives,) and said, "Sorry. We're too busy trying to save real people and real property."

20. When Smirky visited NOLA on photo-op tours soon after Katrina struck ...

his handlers would have squads of emergency workers just standing around doing absolutely nothing just in case they might be needed as props for his photo-ops. Some came from locations far away and they had intended to offer their help in the recovery effort but they were told to 'stand by' and many were sent back home without doing a damn thing. It wasn't their fault. That was how BushCo wanted to play the game. So if I had anything to say about it I would tell him to get the fuck out of my way so that I could do something worthwhile.

24. Nothing
as a former emergency worker that means some shut eye and some food, and some water

Trust me, at that point this is more than welcome, even if he is using me as a backdrop

26. Luckily I don't live in your country, so I feel better about saying this.
NB: This is legal where I live, local laws should be consulted.

I'd conceal a digital voice recorder of some description, introduce myself as "a huge fan" and see if wants to let a "loyal footsolider" in the "war" on "terror" in on some juicy nuggets that I'd just happen to capture on virtual tape. Just an off-the-cuff remark that lifts the curtain high enough for all to see.

I don't want to confront him because he just doesn't care. If I'm getting that close to him, it's in an attempt to destroy his career, not to tell him how personally aggrieved I am.
