National greeting card company carrying 'Love Democratic style' card with Pelosi, others in bondage
RAW STORY

This Valentine's Day, a national greeting card company is circulating a satirical online greeting card that depicts 'love Democratic style' as "throw family values out the window" and depicts House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) dressed as a dominatrix and Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) as a maid. RAW STORY could not locate a "Love Republican style" greeting card at the company's website.

Blue Mountain's greeting card, entitled "Love Democratic Style." The short eCard from the company plays a short jingle for about 30 seconds with a variety of colorful images of Democratic political leaders in compromising situations.

The page gives no indication of whether the card was company created or made by a user.

The eCard first depicts an image of Senator Hillary Clinton dressed in maid garb.

1. Love, Republican Style
you are taken to a fancy restraunt. All of the best cuisine in the world is laid before you. But you don't get to eat any of it. You just watch your date eat it in front of you, all the while telling you how delicious it is.

Then you get drugged, date-raped, and dropped off in a gutter, with "a couple bucks for your trouble".

16. At what point does the "flashing" commence?:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2731012

A Florida television station is reporting that former Congressman Joseph McDade has been accused of exposing himself in public.

2. Do they have a card with Foley asking a page about his penis size?
Or Ted Haggard getting tweaked and fucking his dealer? Or Rush having underage gay sex while high on Oxycontin and Viagra? Or various other Repukes downloading child porn and/or screwing their mistresses/hookers?

Yea, that's what I thought.

6. LMAO. That would make a great set of cards
"traditional values", such as:

Cybersex with an underage boy,

crystal meth and sodomy,

drug abuse, Viagra, and sex with Dominican minors...

33. It's a really sad statement about the Republicans...
...that each of those three cases you mentioned is referring to such a high-profile Republican that I can name him. These aren't some town aldermen in the darkest wilds of East Nowhere. These are nationally recognized Republican leaders, one of them elected to Congress.

3. Blue Mountain...
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 03:20 PM by silverweb
I remember reading something about the founder and owners of Blue Mountain within the past year... can't remember details, but I seem to recall that they're very right wing.

I'll try to get updated information.

On edit: I can't find anything on it now. The founders, Susan Polis Schutz and her husband, Stephen, started a small arts/poster/silk screening business many years ago and then got big in the '90s. While there's definitely a heavy emphasis on kitschy love/family/motherhood themes, there's nothing I can find otherwise at the moment to indicate an extremely conservative inclination.

I could very well have mixed up something I read previously about another company with Blue Mountain, so retract my "right wing" suggestion at this time.

RE-edit: BuyBlue says that SPS Studies, which now owns Blue Mountain, is _100% blue_, so I take back anything remotely not nice I may have said and grovel in apology!

9. Something's not right here: aren't the founders of Blue Mountain Arts pretty liberal?
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 03:17 PM by brentspeak
Susan Polis Schutz, who founded the Blue Mountain with her husband, is a noted anti-war and woman's rights activist.

See my groveling above.

The "bad" greeting card company we may all be wanting to spank is _American Greetings_, who heavily favors the GOP.

15. Could be.
Hacking would explain a lot. Per the article, there's a suggestion that registered users may also be able to design their own cards, so that's a possible answer, as well.

That card is massively offensive, and the only Republican cards I could find are both Election Day cards: a "Vote Republican" postcard, and an "11/7 Republican Elephant Day" card (clearly from the 2006 election).

I thought this was a liberal company.

To be fair, they were trying to put together a GOP version of the cards. Unfortunately, they'd be classified as child pornography under American law.

edit: damn, last to the joke by a mile

George AWOL Bush would be interested in that, since he had the male prostitute bondage-meister visit the White House over 200 times, according to the official Secret Service records.

I want a life size cut out. Black vinyl knee-high stilleto boots totally rock. She is from San Francisco after all - home of Folsom Street Fair and Exotic Erotic Ball. She's taking charge around here and she's my representative. :)
