Money trumps Peace
Wouldn't that make a great bumper sticker?

1. and of course
you realize he didn't say that as an endorsement of the idea, right?

He said it to describe his view of why some "allies" don't want to hurt themselves economically to join him on his war-quest.

While I'm the first to attack the numbnuts-in-chief over his idiocy, this isn't worthwhile.

3. To insinuate that * is for peace is insulting.
Thank you for giving me the lowdown on the statement. Even if it is out of context it's as outrageous as a endorsement. "Peace"? As if.

4. I do realize the context in which he said it. Still makes a great catchphrase, though. nm

7. Why I agree this is worthwhile.
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 05:37 PM by Cerridwen
Yes, you are correct. It is taken out of context; something about which our opposition has no hesitancy to do. That, however, doesn't make it the right thing to do - two wrongs don't make a right and all that.

However, is there any doubt in your mind that those three words do in fact describe what we know - Money trumps Peace!? The fact that shrub inadvertently spoke the truth is just a wonderful gift from the incoherent occupant of the White House.

edit to add: exploiting a 'misspoken' truth doesn't bother my conscience much.

2. Yes!
Even though the phrase may not have been so awful IN CONTEXT,
it's still a pretty good 3-word summation of the entire
B*sh pResidency.

I'm hoping it catches on; I got me some graphics ready to roll!

6. regardless of its context and the fact that he was doing his classic shadow projection. . .
two things. . .firstly that one would even arrive at such a thought speaks volumes.. . .secondly that he succinctly summarized the idiocy of his foreign policy or lack thereof from the get go is astounding.

I described it to a friend as a fall off your chair moment that rivaled only his "I wish this was a dictatorship. . ." moment after meeting with congress in 12/00.

This one is gonna stick.
