Fire does not discriminate over wealth or partisan parameters
nor does the efficacy of health care, nor does global warming.

Though war would seem to.

hmmmmm. . .

Like many, I've several friends in So Cal who I love dearly. I just spoke to one and the fear and urgency in our abrupt conversation conveyed the enormity of all of this. I've friends who've lost loved ones to the idiocy that is Iraq.

Maybe let's all inhale and quell the winds over Southern California for our brethren.

Nobody deserves this sh*t.

1. I'm with you.. except for the inhaling part
We should all just face east and BLOW...I'd rather blow the winds back where they started, than to inhale any more crud than I have already :hi:

4. I'm cool with the rest of the post, but health care?
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 04:44 PM by sleebarker
I think there are a lot of people suffering from things that would be pretty easily treatable if they had money that might disagree about health care having nothing to do with wealth. I remember reading a story on here a while ago about a little boy who ended up dying from a problem with his tooth because his family couldn't afford to take him to the dentist.

5. Yeah I remember the story.
A kid died because of a treatable absess that infected his brain.

Absolutely tragic really.

He was uninsured. I was only linking it in terms of the topical issue of funding war over funding health.

How crazy is that?

Health care has everything to do with wealth. And many working families can't afford it.

I had to pay 900 bucks for my kids collision on a hockey court for a couple of drops of crazy glue and two minutes of the doctor's precious time. We waited for 5 hours for that.

How crazy is that. . . ???

7. That is the health care issue. People who
die because they can't pay for it.

I'm another friend in California. I'm not in danger of fire yet. Although we have had some fires starting nearby, the firemen have managed to put them out. What I can say is that we can feel the heat, not only from the Santa Ana winds that are causing the fires but the fires themselves down the road. The smoke is drifting our way too blown by the winds. I am sweating as I type this.
