Poll question: Why have the Democrats so consistently enabled the Bush Administration over the past year?

I want to know what you actually think is going on. I'll include "spineless" in this poll, but I hope you'll think a little deeper about it, because I know that's the first inclination of almost everyone here, including myself.

I also realize that there are multiple reasons depending on the lawmaker and the issue at hand, and they're much more complicated than these poll options indicate. But if you were to pick one most frequent or overarching reason for this hideous capitulation, would it be:

They should be listening to their constitutents.
What are their stupid advisors telling them? "Please make nice. Show you're bipartisan. Don't say anything that people will mistake for your being weak on terror."
