130 Homes destroyed in Lake Arrowhead

SAN DIEGO (AP) - More than a quarter-million people were urged to flee their homes across Southern California on Monday as wildfires blown by fierce desert winds raced over the landscape with terrifying speed. Flames destroyed nearly 130 homes in an area where hundreds burned four years ago.

A pair of wildfires consumed 128 homes in the mountain resort area of Lake Arrowhead, in the San Bernardino National Forest east of Los Angeles.

"We're stretched very thin and we can't get any planes up," said forest spokesman John Miller.

4. dear god...please let everyone get out safely..i have called my senators and raised hell all day

about the national guard being in Iraq!..i mean i screamed at them!!

and I will call tommorrow and the next day and every day until they bring the national guard home! where they belong!
