24. They can have their own show
Bill Maher has one hour to interview guests, to chat with the panel and to express his opinions and jokes. He is not there to debate with nut cases.

I hope that they got arrested and fingerprinted and entered a database from where they can never get out. If they are so convinced that ours is a police state - let them have a taste of it.

With all due respect, I can not disagree more.

There appears to me to be a preponderance of evidence that the Chimp administration and the Republicans committed treason by one of the following:

1) criminal incompetence in ignoring the threats leading up to 9/11.

2) intentionally ignored the threats, and may have even hindered the work of law enforcement, to spur their new 'Peal Harbor'.

combined with:

3) used the event for political gain.

Bin Ladens bunch, labeled Al Queda by the CIA, was a primary worry of the Clinton administration.

It was a simple plan, the kind that work.

"Tapes Depict Proposal to Thwart
Bomb Used in Trade Center Blast"

By Ralph Blumenthal

Law-enforcement officials were told that terrorists were building a bomb that was eventually used to blow up the World Trade Center, and they planned to thwart the plotters by secretly substituting harmless powder for the explosives, an informer said after the blast.

The informer was to have helped the plotters build the bomb and supply the fake powder, but the plan was called off by an F.B.I. supervisor who had other ideas about how the informer, Emad Salem, should be used, the informer said.

The account, which is given in the transcript of hundreds of hours of tape recordings that Mr. Salem secretly made of his talks with law-enforcement agents, portrays the authorities as being in a far better position than previously known to foil the February 26th bombing of New York City's tallest towers.

The explosion left six people dead, more than a thousand people injured, and damages in excess of half-a-billion dollars. Four men are now on trial in Manhattan Federal Court in that attack.

Ask yourself what Bin Laden has gained by this supposed attack on America???
What have they gained???

Now . . . what has the right-wing cabal in America gained?
What has the oil industry gained? What have American imperialists gained?

28. That fight
may be more difficult than many boxing experts think. Based entirely on skills and athletic ability, Floyd wins, and easily. But when you add in the intangibles, there is a shift.

Floyd enjoys mocking opponents before a fight, like when he called Arturo Gotti a "third-rate club fighter." Of course, he was right about Gotti, who took a licking and couldn't do a damned thing about it. Afterwards, Floyd said he had only been joking, though Gotti was, at best, a third-rate fighter.

Floyd has been insulting Hatton, who has a different personality than Floyd's other victims. Ricky reminds me more of a fellow my great uncle trained in his early pro career, Carman Basilio. Carman was a welterweight champion, who was treated with contempt by the middleweight champion, Sugar Ray Robinson. Carmen's skill level was to Ray's, what Ricky's are to Floyd's. He beat Ray for the title, then lost a split-decision in their return match.

The Mayweather v Hatton fight is, in many ways, the rubber match of Basilio and Robinson. Hatton will try to cut the distance between himself and Floyd. He isn't handcuffed by Artuo's lack of skill, or Oscar's lack of heart. And he hits very hard with that left hook that lifts the floating rib.

I like both men, though I am hoping for Floyd to win. He is good for boxing and for sports. I think that his defensive skills are amazing, but he is going to have to bring his best to the table in December, or he will be upset.

30. Interesting points
I especially find the comparison of Hatton and Basilio's personalities intriguing. If Ricky has
the fire and anger that Carmen had (didn't Ray refusal to shake his hand 5+ years earlier
start Basilio's great resentment towards Robinson?) then it may be a much closer fight
like you said. Personally I think SRR's age had a lot to do with his struggles vs Carmen
and I think that Floyd is in his absolute prime at the moment. I'm still thinking it
will be more of a blowout but I hope you are right boxing could use a war in a big fight
like this and maybe Hatton can bring it. Either way I'm getting much more interested
in this fight as it gets closer :)

32. Ray was smug
when Carmen attempted to introduce his wife to him at a time before anyone thought the two would ever meet in the ring. Carmen held the grudge for a long time. In fact, on the ESPN Classic shows, Carmen makes it clear he wasn't sad when Ray died.

There are guys who are distracted by insults and barbs, and a very few who become more focused. I think that Hatton will be at his very best for Mayweather, and that the insults will motivate him in the ring. It's hard to say if Hatton at his best will be enough to beat Floyd. But very few people thought Carmen posed any serious risk to Ray. I think it is going to be a war.
