Wolfe basically said torture is on their list of "values." Did I hear that right? How fucked are we when the "Christians" favor the techniques used at Golgotha against their Lord & Savior?

Not x-tians per se. Though I would personally dispute that argument.

A group is defined by the behaviour of it's majority constituents, not heretical splinter factions.

And the behaviour of "Christian peoples" over the past 1500 plus years (ever since they got the whip hand in Europe), indicates that the average "Christian" is a hate filled misogynistic xenophobic bigot.

Don't think that description fits? Then there are two choices, Declare schismatic war and take over the appellation which has historically not belonged to their ilk since the days of Charlemagne (at the latest), or find themselves a new one.


In fact my general take on religion is that God (whatever his form) is more often an excuse to do what someone wants to rather that what they know they should, than a divine motivational power for betterment. Oh he keeps the peons nicely in line and properly obedient, but when the time comes for committing genocide in his name, HE is ALL 'EFFING FOR IT every bloody time.


I will gladly profess myself to be a student of the teachings of Christ, as well as an Atheist, but never will I associate myself with the organisation(s) which took his name.
