Okay, this may seem 'silly' to some, maybe even a bit of a trifle

This, morning, I don't care about that.

I logged on this morning and discovered that not only had someone or someones given me a couple more hearts, but that I now have a couple of hearts I can share with others! I get to pay it forward! Just as I was getting all misty-eyed about that, I noticed I have my star back, too!

Aw, geez. Thank you seems so inadequate. The thoughts tumbling around in my head are a jumbled mass of "DUers are the most caring and compassionate people around and this is why we need to 'run the world' and part Sally Field "you like me! you really like me!" combined with, "Oh my gosh! Does this mean people really read what I type? Maybe my words really do have an impact!" and more thoughts and feelings that are only partially formed right now and won't be available to me until my time to edit this post is up. :D

I keep myself informed of what the 'opposition' has to say by reading other non-liberal and anti-liberal sites. I've read where they mock us for this heart-athon. I've read their posters, who are moles over here, making fun of the fact that someone has given them a heart or a star. To them, I say, "Why kind of person mocks someone who has shown compassion and caring? What kind of person are you to make fun of one who has shown you a kindness? What kind of person are you who is so unfeeling you can't appreciate another person sharing their feelings with you?" And, I'll leave it at that. I can't grasp the lack of feeling and heart someone must experience to be able to say those things.

So, to each and every one of you who has given hearts and stars to me and to others on this board, Thank you! for reminding me, yet again, what wonderful and caring people we have here on DU. Thank you! for showing all who care to see, that this is perhaps the crux, of what separates 'us' from 'them'. Thank you! for giving me such feelings of happiness. Thank you! for sharing and showing such friendship and compassion to the people on this board. And, yes, thank you! to those of you who may have shared your compassion, inadvertently, to a mole or troll. Perhaps they will re-evaluate their search for an enemy when the 'enemy' shows them kindness. To my own Secret Admirer(s), thank you! I will pay it forward. Thank you! for giving me that opportunity.

We DUers are a good, kind people. I'm happy and honored to be one of you.
