Cynthia McKinney CAMPAIGNS for democrats!
Right here in my hometown of Newburgh, NY

At yesterday's fundraiser, Howard's special guest was Cynthia McKinney, a former congresswoman from Georgia. Also present was civil rights attorney Michael Sussman — who represents Bryant's family in a civil rights suit against the city.

:woohoo:

2. I've met McKinney, worked with her
And I have to say that it isn't a case here of her leaving Democrats but the other way around (although to be fair thousands of Republicans jumping into a Democratic Primary is what did her in at least in 2002 and played a role in 2006).

6. Dem/DLC threw McKinney "under the bus" they just got rid of her earlier
than they did the rest of us. Agree...Cynthia didn't leave the Party...the Party left her...under the bus with road tracks from backing up on her.

Thanks for your post.

8. That's what Lieberman says too.
But the fact is that in both cases, they were dumped by their Democratic constituents.

11. Total Difference! Lieberman was Dumped for his votes on Issues that Dems
who knew about the Bush Criminals in sending us into Iraq and stealing an election which "Holy Joe" participated in and his compliance in voting with Repugs on supporting Bush after 2000.

McKinney was targeted for her telling the truth about the Bushies before our Party and America were ready to hear it. She knew they were criminals...because she had the intelligence plus the Independence of Thought to point it out. She's like the kid who knew the Emperor had no Clothes...but she wasn't a kid but an intelligent elected member of Congress. And "our own" went after her and never stopped..including Pelosi who refused to reinstate McKinney's Committee Seniority once she won re-election.

her out of office. They worked on it 24/7 and then some.

She is adored. by millions, not just in her district, I might add. remember the bush-gore elciton, the bush-kerry election? Do you think they lost too?
(If yes, let's not even continue on.)

34. if I may
I'm one of her former constituents, and I remember vividly fat, white, racist republican fuckers actually bragging about crossing over during the primary.

And at my polling place, the machine refused to register my vote. It took several tries. The error kept coming up saying that I wasn't registered.

you need to educate yourself.

instead of denigrating the film, why not try to broaden your mind? then, perhaps then, you'll know what the fuck you're talking about.

30. Go to Google Video and watch American Blackout
Sundance Award winning film, which has the databank evidence. Huge statistical drop in the number of Republican voters that year, a campaign by GOP operatives to get people to vote in the Democratic Primary; "extra" votes that didn't show up voting for other Dem. candidates but for McKinney v. Opponent.

Honestly those of us in Georgia who had to live through this disaster understand what happened. We don't need people who don't lecturing us about it.

44. Actually I have heard about this before and NO I don't have a link
It was on an early morning Sunday program. The CBC was ready to stand up and fight the election results in 2000 . Gore asked them not to because he didn't want to divide the country. So, although TECHNICALLY you are a little correct, the truth lies in between. He asked them not to fight for HIM.

But I do feel like Iraqi kids starved to death and Mexican immigrants making the deathly trek to America because NAFTA incinerated their jobs are a moral loss on our nation.

I don't blame Gore for the sanctions, as I realize it's a bit more complicated than that. However, I do think the sanctions against Iraq were one of the few mistakes made by the Clinton administration.
