FISA help: doesn't current law allow intercepts to begin immediately
and justification to be made later?

Fox news just had some story about how it took 9 hours to start an intercept. It involved searching for missing US troop and looks to be the new talking point for the FISA law debate this week,

2. Yes. At least that's my understanding.
So far, the only arguments that I've heard trying to justify bypassing FISA ignore that little bit if reality.

3. looks like Fox will be playing up this phony story.

That they had actionable information that was running thru a server in the US but they had to wait 9 hour while they did the paper work and chase people down.

It would have allowed us to help find missing US soldiers.

Fox said it info would make US military family angry.

Expect this one to run on Limbaugh and Bill O.

6. my family has FOX on almost all the time...
they let it run in the background.

They think world is fine... will not fine. There is too much bashing of Christianity, Gore refuses to debate global warming with critics, war in Iraq is going much better.

4. If my computer had not been stolen
I would gladly send you my paper I wrote on FISA and why we did not need the Patriot Act, or any other law to do everything that was said to be needed by the Bush admin, legally.

WHy they chose to go around it can ONLY be explained by their requirement for illegality and secrecy, in other words, what are they REALLY spying on and listening to???

9. An activist friend lost a laptop with her work. Little else disturbed during the break-in.
Fortunaltely, all the work was backed up.
